Setting Up A Deticated Server

<div class="IPBDescription">NS on steam</div> how do is et up a deticated server on steam? I ahve the client that you can play ns with. I cant use hl Deticated server cause NS doenst show up. If i create a ns server it isnt deticated if i use NS. Do i need ns deticated server if so how do i install the zip files with the updates and stuff.

thre is no deticated server box option on steam. there was one in 2.0 won though.

You've got to download a program from the downloads page as far as i knew, but iv'e never done it.

It's an entire forum designated to answering and discussing everything server related. People are just trying to help you, don't disrespect them if they can't give you instant answers to your questions. This is only needed if you want to run a dedicated server. For help running a server, please visit the Server Op forum, or check #nsserver on GamesNET.

This is a unified zip file for Linux and Win32. To unzip it on Windows, use Winzip or another package and unzip to your Half-life server directory.

Special notes for Linux admins: Please unzip the file without the -a flag. i.e. simply unzip buy typing 'unzip' (without the quotation marks) in your halflife server directory. As always with any new HL mod, reinstalling HLDS and your mod cleanly is HIGHLY recommended to avoid issues running your server.

that doesnt answer it cause i dont know waht to do after i unzip it where to put it and if it is in half-life folder it doenst work cause it is also nammed nsp and when i get rid of playing client and use that it wont create a server. help? there is no option to create a deticated server in regular nsp.

Search in the General Servers forum. There are FAQs, and at last check, step-by-step instructions for setting up dedicated servers for newbie operators. General Discussion, however, is not the place to post this. And given that there are a number of good articles available in the proper forum, this doesn't bear moving.
