<div class="IPBDescription">........</div> Ok, i went on a website A porn one....
And downloaded a video.

I've got some spyware, or at least what i think is spyware, and i've ran spybot s & d, along with ad aware 6.0 professional. that removed some of the psyware, but the tool bar at the top of my IE still exists.

I've done all in mine and friends power to get rid of this but this toolbar, just wont go! I've also got something trying to change my registry settings, which i cannot stop either. If anyone can shed any light on this i would be very greatful

This isn't the tech support forum, first of all, and second, you shouldn't post on an NS forum for help removing porn spyware. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

If it was spyware from NS, perhaps.. but sorry.

I'm trying to be nice, Nem. Don't lock it just yet!

    I'm sorry, but I couldn't help but crack up when I saw this topic's intro. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Anyhow, a few things:

-Have you tried running Ad Aware's webUpdate?
-Have you noticed any new software installations (under Add/Remove Programs)?
-Have you noticed any strange or out-of-place folders or files on your hard drive?

Ok, basicly what i'm trying to establish is the best of the best spyware removers couldn't even touch it, there's no wierd/new programs in the Add/remove programs thingy, and no there's no folders that i don't know what they are.

    I'm not a noob...

I had this toolbar on my old comp, no idea where it came from however. The only way I've found to kill it is to use HijackThis (google for it). When run, theres some entries about IE toolbars. Find the one that doesn't look like it belongs with windows (forget what its called, its been a year since I had this toolbar) and delete it. Delete the wrong one, and you screw up IE however.

You might want to remove that link before some ones parents find it <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Other then that if you pay them and they gave you a *insert malicious program* that would be silly <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I don't reconize this
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\wuauclt.exe
Try using msconfig to stop it from running?

(Keep in mind I likely have no idea what I'm talking about)

Typing msconfig in run should be your first step. Go to startup and look over all the items that are checked. If you see any unusual ones, or files that have odd root directories, uncheck them, and restart your computer. Then, go over it with a spyware client or something and see if that helps.

I made it so msconfig opens up right when I boot up my PC, so I can always check and make sure nothing more than I want is running. It's a pretty simple way to check for malicious software.

this is not CLEVER spyware, just undetected. Make a batch file that has 'del C:\WINDOWS\'. Nothing from SBS&D or NortonAntiVirus2004.

Well then. Since this has been solved, there's really no further point in discussing this. Especially in General, when this should have been posted in Off-TOpic, if anywhere.
