A few days ago I started a new NS: Classic map, it's called selene, since Earth's moon is called like that, I'll make the backstory later, but it will probably take place far far away from earth <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Anyways, here are two pics of the first room I've done... the Marine Spawn, these are still work in progress, so feel free to suggest changes (I know the back is a bit dark, btw)

    It looks very blue. But it looks ok Mendasp, so good that this map is NS style.

    I like how you've kind of continued Sava's style, yet it still looks unique enough. Definitely a good start.

    On a serious note it looks nice, I especially like the shadow contrast against the bright blue light. However the railing on the pilars look a bit out of place, maybe a different texture?

    Yeah those support lights do look a littly funky. Other than that, the map looks great!

    yeah , the supports. with those yellow lights ( i have a thing vs. yellow lights in ns <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> ) and the tex on the support itself is argh 2 <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> MAYBE too light ? or not .. we'll see <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Looks nice, but dont you think we need some new textures, i keep seeing the old ns ones over and over and over again, they just became sooo boring, i bet if you got new textures you could make this map better 10 FOLD. Don't get me wrong, i think its looking great, but the textures ahh..

    Those supports (the strange ones) were meant to be metallic, but since I lack the proper textures I try to use what I have available in... uhm... different ways <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I think the supports are beautiful. At first they looked pretty weird, but when I looked at them a moment I saw them a different way. Would've never thought of anything like that. It's pretty far from basic which I like.

    Also, the use of ns2.wad makes it look more combat than ns classic, but that's just good to have more classic maps using them. IMO this wad's textures look a little cartoonish. That's maybe why I like it, althought I still prefer ns.wad. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    The marine start looks small. I hope there will be at least one other way without door blocking the way. We will see how that door works when the map is released. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->. Please don't forget to add dark areas here and there.
