A New Nsbot?

I was playing combat on one of the OldF servers (i think) and there were only 2 human players... so the server automatically added bots. All the marines had the tag [GS] on them... they had excellent aim compared to RCbots, and would speak somewhat intelligently, such as yelling "onos & fade" if they came up against an onos and fade. They had some rudimentary strategy as well. All of us marines were next to the alien hive in co_rebirth. The one alien human player was an onos and was attacking our CC.... So one of the bots yelled for everyone to just take down the hive instead of going back to base... and we managed to win before the onos could take down our CC. I haven't used rcbot in a month... but i certainly don't remember them having such good aim and use speech. Anybody know anything about this?

This sounds like a crop circles story. Complete with no details on the actual server IP and mystical properties of never seen before bots.

Really tho, which server was this?

Like i said before, it was one of the two [oldF] servers. At first i thought the [GS] players were real, but they started exhibiting bot behavior, such as unusual typetalk. And it looked to me like they were being autoadded to marines (from lack of players). heck maybe i should just go to the oldF forums and ask. methinks i shall do that.

I don't see the oldF server in the list of servers running rcbot.

But I can tell you the RCBot uses megaHAL chatting and learns from everyones messages but it doesn't put it into tactics yet. Anyone who runs my latest beta rcbot files will know you can improve their aiming with simple commands.

or if they have the exact same ping allways like 5, some bots have 5 ping some have 0, others have 1.

I was playing there last night and I remember seeing alien bots. What amazed me was the fact that they would actually leave the hive (unlike the retard-o bots you usually see) and head for the CC, climbing on walls, following a pre-set (and easy to camp) path each time. I don't remember anything about chatting...but I was playing 'rine. It did strike me as a newer bot AI than I had seen before. I don't remember the clan name you mentioned...they seemed to me to always be named 101010101001 or some rendition thereof. All had ping of 0.

You sure these are real bots?

Me and my old clan (in CS) used to put our name to [Bot]
and go to pubs and pretend to be bots... Spaming things like, new map, gathering at one spot, and buying and droping wepons, mass grenades and stuff. All kinds of people would ask us if we were bots, and we would spam irelevent stuff about bots... So fun to screw with peoples heads... Was this the case here?

They are Whichbots and they have a [Wb] in front of their names when they join. It's an Alien only bot/AI and one of the other OldF members wrote a plugin that will auto add bots if there are fewer than 7 players on the server.

We have no marine bots running on the server... however, the GS guys are very weird so I could see someone mistaking them for bots.
