and NS crashes on exiting
So what happens is that if I join a server to play, any server, my sound gets all messed up. They all go really really fast, heighten in pitch (probably from going faster), and sudden;y pick up huge amounts of static. A firefight with lmgs hurts my ears so much, that I have to turn off the sound, which is bad in NS and just plain sucks. THEN if I try to exit out of NS, my whole copmuter will crash. It just freezes up to the point where I have to use the reset button . I've updated all my drivers recently. I'm running NS beta 4a in Steam in Windows 98 SE. I will gladly provide additional information on sound card and other information as needed.

Yes. It doesn't even happen when I run other steam games, including Half-Life or Counter-Strike. It's only NS. I've even tried uninstalling Steam, reinstalling it, and doing a reinstall of NS. It still happens.
try disablining your sound card (via device manager)
try finding an older version of your drivers.

Unfortunately, this is a family copmuter, and I can't do stuff like that. That and I can't seem to find the Device Manager. I thought it was in control panel...
I did try turning my mic off though, still happens.
