reminds me of aliens
in the past few days i've been playing i noticed its much more fun if you're loosing on marines, this goes for aliens too. it sort of gives you the feeling you're in the movie aliens or starship troopers.

does anyone else feel the same way?

absolutely, i was just saying how before the patch i didnt like marines, but now i love them. Being on the marines now brings with it a certain sense of forboding and fear. COmraderie is up because we all know that if we meet an alien alone we are hosed pretty much, so it really feels like a movie as I rely on my squad and we move tactically through the corridors of the infested hulks and bases. Marines are great fun now.

    Yeah, agreed
When you are holed up in that last room and the aliens roam the corridors, devouring anyone daring to leave the brightly lit sanctuary to try to retake the nearby resource point.
That's when you get that scary feeling, not knowing when they will come.
Then you hear the primal scream of a mighty onos, and you know this is the last stand. Boldly, you step out into the dark corridor and empty your clip into the alien horde waiting outside, saving the last bullet for yourself...

I am the same way, though the last minute or so of the game sucks. You know, the part where you are constantly being killed over and over without getting off a shot.

It's especially great when I say over the mic: "Game over, man!" , and someone else comes back with the rest of the line.

hah i feel the same way. many a time ive said "this game is fun even when your losin!" not so much as aliens though. i remember on hera we were losing and we had a IP at the comm seat beating back tons of onos and fade attacks. the funniest part of it was a skulk that finished us off.

Losing as marines is the most fun experience EVER. More fun than ravaging the marines' base AS an alien. Seeing the Onos plowing through the doors, screams and roars, voice-comm users freaking out... your defenses going up in smoke...

    wow.

Agreed. I usually hate losing, but losing as the Marines is just an outright blast. That mix of fear and determination to fight back is fantastic. The freaking out over voicecomm as Windelkron said. And, of course, being able to say "Game over, man! Game over!" in context is just plain great.
