Can commander do this?
Can the commander open doors/trigger elevators etc. by him/herself? I think M. Evil made a reference to this somewhere, but I've never managed to do it before.

Yes, he can. A simple left click will manipulate doors and the like.

Yeah, on that one map with the rotating door, I would put up a turret area and an observatory on one side and when an alien would walk into "their" side of the door, I'd toggle it and send him to his death. lol

The lift takes a while to fully rotate around so you have time to get out if your an alien.

I've tried left clicking on object like switches but nothing happened (the cursor did change to the "manipulate" cursor though). Sometimes it would even set a waypoint there, even though I didn't right click.

Well what do you know. I had no idea. I didn't even recall reading that in the manual.

It does not seem to work all the time, not to every door/elevator.
I was playing with it using a local server and "mp_trainingmode 1" and *some* doors/elevators could not be activated using the commander interface. An example is the elevator in the marine spawn base (ns_bast). Other elevators in the same map could be activated normally.
I really would like to know if this is either a NS bug or a mapping bug. Pehaps the mappers forgot sometimes to place special entities in doors/elevators to allow the activation by commander... really annoying...

some switches dont work, you have to click on the door itself which is hard sometimes(bad angles)
