I'd say yes. I think your body's too used to the drinks, and it kinda needs it. Me and my friend are the same with Pepsi.

If you are honestly drinking EVERY night, then I'd say yes. Two or three nights a week isn't really a problem. Any more is really pushing it.

I'm much the same with string cheese...

More seriously, though, it does sound like you may be moving into the problem stage. Especially if you feel it may be a problem, it probably is. Don't be afraid to ask someone you know and trust for help if you feel you need it.

God, you people and your addictions

Okay. First step: Think only about today, and now. Take it one step at a time.

Put away any drinks you have.. and tell yourself.. you're not having ANY alcohol today/tonight. Not one drink. Occupy yourself with other non-alcohol related things, and just get through it. After the night, do the same thing tomorrow.. But take it one day at a time. Do this for a month, then let yourself have a drink friday and saturday night. But keep it under control.

I'm not sure if it's a problem yet, unless it is seriously affecting some things in your life, but you seem to feel that it's a problem, so that's my advice. Take it, or nobody else can help you further. You can lead a horse to water...

eediot, you can't give him AA in a single post..

here's what you do, gangst0r. go to an AA meeting (alcoholics anonymous) and they'll hook you up. that's the BEST YOU CAN DO FOR YOURSELF AT THIS POINT (HABITUAL/ABUSE)

I'm having a cola addiction (sugar can be very addicted, it gives a shot of energy to the brain) I drink a 1/2 l every day and if I dont I get grumpy, irritated and slightly depressed and when I finally get the sweet sugar I feel happy.. Sad I know, but it isn't that bad considering my situation..

There's no way out man, the rollercoaster is on repeat..

    Self-discipline anybody? Nooo...

Epidemic - The whole point is, you realise that what you're doing is bad for you, so you STOP. You get through any withdrawl pains, and you keep your mind off it, and you just keep going on with your life, WITHOUT coke or pepsi or whatever. Just stop drinking it RIGHT THIS MINUTE, and don't start up again. Every time you want to drink a soft drink, go refill a glass of water. Go for a run, watch a DVD [without coke].

Zig - I'm pretty sure I can. He came on forums asking for help, I give him sound advice. In fact, here's another bit of sound advice...

Stay away from people with drinking problems. For the next while, try and hang around with people who don't drink [a lot/at all] as much as possible, and they will help you through it.

Repeated again for clarity: If you have a problem, the only way it's going to change is through YOU doing something that helps you. So start immediately, and by immediately i mean RIGHT NOW. PUT DOWN the coke, the cigarrete, the jack daniels. And go get a glass of water and a good book to read.

"But it's not that easy, wah wah wah." Well I don't see how other people are going to help you unless they're there 24/7 to mollycoddle you and forcefully stop you from drinking. Stop being a baby - it's up to YOU to help yourself.

eed, i'm serious.. i'm not trying to be a troll here but i know a damn good lot of alcos and i've been in AA and al-anon myself and i can safely say that his best bet is to GO to his first meeting. then he can come back and get everyone's advice.. but it's important to have that first meeting, if not more..

for your own sake, gangsta, i don't even f*ing know you but i'm tellin you right now if you wanna kick alcoholism, go to AA.

I know, I can even feel the way out of it, how the abstinences wil gradually devolve, but in truth, I'm down mentally, I'll probably die from stress if I try that RIGHT NOW. I'm not planning to keep having it this way but as long as things are this way for me I'm just hanging in..

    In my opinion.....

Alcoholism has NOTHING to do with how often you consume or how much. It has to do with whether it's causing a problem in your life or not.

Sort of like how we all know when it's ok and not ok to play games. You don't play games while you're being paid to work, when you're supposed to be doing something else like picking someone up from the airport, and other such examples. Notice how the above example never covers amounts of playtime, only conflicts.

A paralell can be drawn to when it's ok to drink.

I get **** for having a shot of vodka every other day, but then again my dad was an alcoholic.

And [WHO]Them we've all forgotten our grandma at the airport at least once cause we we're playing games. Don't get all high and mighty with me.
