Need Help Editing A Map

<div class="IPBDescription">lost rmf file and need to uncompile bsp</div> ns_stargate-xt9, (orginaly done by VoodooFan) needs some work, so I contacted him and got his permission to work on his map but he no longers has the rmf file, so it will need to be uncompiled and then edited. I know almost thing about maping but I play regulary on a server that play this map and we all agree it would a lot more fun if some changes were made. So I'm asking if anyone is interested in working on this with me to make this map more fun for everyone. Below is just a quick summery of some of the most important things that need to be changed.

It needs some work so that marines stand a chance, cause every time aliens win because they climb the walls and go around to attack without using the stargate. Between that and the vents on the marine side of the gate the marines don’t stand a chance. I was wondering if you could either remove the vents and a place a ceiling on the outside of the map so the aliens cant climb the walls and take advantage of a glitch. Also the switch for the iris needs to be changed so it can be closed easily.

    Thank you! Its a start I'll be askign around on servers I regular if anyone knows how to decompile, when I find someone I'll let you know,

    Decompiling is basically just running a program. However, after this, you will need to rebuild all of the architecture since the decompiled version will have damaged brushes and each face will be a 1unit thick brush. So you will have to learn mapping anyway.

    Use bsptwomap (found here: <a href='http://www.seas.upenn.edu/~skyork/apps/BSPTwoMAP.zip' target='_blank'>http://www.seas.upenn.edu/~skyork/apps/BSPTwoMAP.zip</a> )

    it will change everything into 1 unit brushes, so you just have to rebuild it based the decompiled brushes.

    Okay well thanks to Hi I have it decompiled into a .map file and a wad file for it. Now I need help rebuilding and editing it.

    Well, most I can do, after looking at the decompiled... thing... is re-make the mostly intact RR for you... that much I know I can do, since it is mainly jsut re-sizing the brushes properly

    That leaves whoever you have helping you to do the main body of the map itself... which I can't make heads or tails of (course, more than 90% of the textures don't work... so that might be why... since being somewhat colourblind doesn't help... can't tell shades... 0o')
