i think this would be a useful feature..
I think i played commander often enough to criticize something about it. 1. a kind of user-list should be added to command control, that you can quickly select the marines and on double click it should center on them. (perhaps with additional location info)
2. it should be possible to select/group one marine and add another one by pressing ctrl/shift (dunno if this is possible yet..i didnt find a way)
3. if i want to bind health/ammo-pack directly on a button, the equip folder has to be opened (bug or intent?) perhaps this should be fixed coz if someone requests ammo he needs it quite fast...
[thx for reading (perhaps supporting) this]
dont think i am ungrateful this mod really kickz az. i like it more then cs.. it made me more addicted then cs ever did

As well with the ability to select people by using shift or control, and selecting them from a list, there should be a seperate list showing all the people you currently have selected. And also get rid of the right mouse button click as a cancel not working bug, this would make it all easier.
And something even easier to add, make requests from the marines louder as a Commander. It's really easy to miss what they are saying, especially when watching people in a battle where it's noisy.
And as mentioned here before somewhere, a button that selects all troops.
and hm about this problem with performance in commandview.. i must agree command view needs more performance then firstperson..but i dont think this problem is that important perhaps the explosions and decals should not be shown or only low quality

You deserve a page in this book!
1. A little medic or ammo icon flashes over a marine's position on the overview map when he asks for health or ammo respectively.
2. A little question mark icon flashes over a marine's position on the overview map when they're asking for orders.
3. A right click pull down menu that allows you to quickly find a marine by name. (Maybe I'm too much a n00b, but when somebody says "resource nozzle here" I generally have no idea where they are.)
4. A little flash on the overview map at the position of a marine whenever they're talking or have sent a message.
5. New structure type: Medical Bay. Since kits are dissipearing in 30 seconds we can't just stockpile those at a base anymore. Something the marines could hold down their use button on to heal themselves will fit this niche nicely.

The first two are already there! Hit spacebar and you will immediatlely go to them.
3,4 good ideas!
5. I dunno, I think that is the aliens trait, the hive heals them, and but they have no ammo (quicker recharging), marines have ammo machine, but no idependent health station.
I hope all of the good ideas get in! Let's just find out...
OH!!! So that's why everyone always tells you to use the radio commands! I'm glad this is in there, because it really gets annoying trying to find them. Where do you people find this stuff? It isn't in the manual. In fact, alot of stuff isn't...

Self-edumahcation.
imo its a real pain to have to focus to HB and waste like 20 seconds restocking...
if no one likes this idea, can we at least get shift-click going so that we dont have to keep on clicking back on the button?

If this feature were added, there would be no insentive to follow the commanders orders. Sure SOME people might still follow orders, but this gives the commanders some leverage.

There is a sound when you hear it the first time in game (or only when cl_autohelp is enabled) "press spacebar to go to the alert".
another thing about waypoints, i guess it would be useful to display several waypoints or whole waypoint-lines for the marines because eg. on es_eclipse if you give a waypoint at eclipse command hive the marines often part the base by the wrong door and have to walk through the whole map before they find the hive.. or if the marines would also have a minimap where is the waypoint and their teammates coz marines often walk around alone and dont find each other...

Give them smaller waypoints, and be a commander step by stepping it. This isn't SC its NS, and your units are real players.
Its frustrating to have to type everything out you want to say.
I think a Player menu would be a GREAT Idea, I had posted a topic about this before the boards switched to invison, but few replied. It was among others something I would have liked to see. A general waypoint feature would help immensley. Allow commanders to see hp without having the marine selected. Or at least in a list of the marines. A map ping to an event a-la Warcraft would be nice.
It seems that buildings on the minimap do not dissapear whe ndestroied also. Please look into it.

That's what he's talking about. You can't just follow around a player telling him where to go. You've got other things to worry about. Giving multiple waypoints would make things much easier. I think it should most definitely be implemented.
