since you decided to make all the options hardcoded so admins couldn't screw up the game then can you also take out the options for flashlight and footsteps. those options have no purpose except to make me mad <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo--> they should be taken out. before you say "go play on another server" i live in arabia so the only server i can play on is in singapore even though i have DSL. yah i know that's **obscenity**, that's the way it is with all games, and singapore servers are if we are lucky.

    Err? Why would it matter, footsteps are an essential part of the game, and for the element of suprise. Flashlights on the otherhand, can be turned off and on by the click of a button. If the flashlight bugs you, why are you playing HL?

    i know footsteps and flashlight are an essential part of the game, that's exactly why i want the options for them removed immediately!!

    Guys, i think you misunderstood what he is getting at.

    Right now flashlights and footsteps are optional by the server. He thinks they should be mandatory

    Yeah, these should probably be hard-coded as well. They are old legacy variables from the days of Deathmatch. :)

    if you don't have flashlights then you could never see aliens hiding in the dark places. but yah the flashlight in half-life is kinda retarded. i wish there was a way that when you put your flashlight on, your body doesn't glow in the dark as if your body is a lantern. and there should be a glare sprite where the flashlight bulb is except in half life those glare sprites are not zbuffered with models so you can see them through players and it seems every pixel of them is zbuffered with walls so they embed into walls. and i wish you could see where other players were pointing their lights and i wish the light didn't hit backfacing surfaces. i don't think anyone can change these things in half-life unfortunately but i still think flashlights should be there just to help marines find aliens in dark places.
