    I think that all the levels have too much metal in them. Theres a reason we install carpet in houses and stuff, its softer on the feet. Granted, tile and metal is more durable and easier to clean, but what if part of the level was barracks or something? I just think seeing some living quarters would make a level unique. I would do it myself if I were mapping at the moment. Think of sci-fi locations.

    Deep-sea or seafloor base; or a base installed on a floating platform on the water's surface
    Orbital sattilite station
    Moon base
    Base consisting of a number of astroids interconnected by tubes, pipes and airlocks; with each 'roid containing a number of rooms (varying in size and quantity as per each 'roid) and a large (or multiple) central/spawn astroid.
    Space yacht or Pleasure cruise ship.
    Or even a level where the TSA takes it to one of the alien's planets, kinda like Metroid. (a greater percentage of "creep" with significantly less "tech")

    Some really good ideas in your post but the one quoted would create some serious explanation problems as soon as sieges come into play:

    A siege cannon is (correct me if I am wrong) based on ultra-sound.
    In space there is no air and therefore no sound, yet a siege would (possibly) be able to shoot "through" space...


    Anyway. To original poster, try to work from some of Hecate's ideas. Sketch a rough map of the installation with its intended use in mind. Next, decide how the infestation happened and what damage it did. Now confine a bit of the installation (the playable area) and work on the layout some more...

    Just a few pointers. Hope you can use 'em.

    ud need half the map to be in caves tho and the rest the ship

    if 1 hive was in asteroid and CC on bridge that would make a nice CO map
