Question About Patch

<div class="IPBDescription">or lack thereof...</div> Because this patch is for dedicated servers only, what do we do if we want to create a LAN game or a temporary server? Is there anyway to play with the patch or do we have to use v1.00?

    Clairifcation: The patch is for people who want to run a server. Ergo, you want to run a lan, and want 1.01? Download the patch. You just want to play? Don't bother.

    Hmmm... So are you saying that if you wanted to you could update your client release with this new server patch?...

    He's talking about people who have NS Client on their computer but host dedicated or even listen servers on the same computer. There are people who leave up private dedicated servers or whatever and then when they get around to it they pull it down and go play.

    Or are you saying if you want to run a server, uninstall client ns, download and install server NS, download the patch and then run server. After lan is done uninstall server ns, and re-install client?

    Exactly, just couldn't think of the name, listen server. That's exactly what I want, with the Client version.

    Same here. Would be nice if they could some how release an optional client ns patch that'll take care of hosting and comp resources.

    if you want to run any kind of server - Dedicated, Listen or LAN - download the patch and install it.

    if you dont give a rats beens about the server stuff and just want to play - dont.

    yes Someone Who Cares... Only listen servers can be created by client ns files.
