A good comm, Solace I believe it was, managed to get us to Maintinance, we set up an armory, no TF or anything, just mines, and we blew the hive all over the wall... game over, 4 minutes...
As of late though, games have been getting longer on the Lerky Jerky server, since we had a 1 and a half hour game today on Tanith, where the marines (me and the rest of the guys) made an EXTREME comback ont he aliens and won the game.
He's saying that MS completely sucks for aliens (ns_eclipse) because they have doors and you sometimes have to wait for them to open...which I why I told you you should have a door in marine start...
But if you check in the help foum I'm having some trouble with that too...
yeah the doors are very annoying, they've killed me many times, just by closing, right before i try to leave MS. no more doors on MS
the map creater doesn't have to make the func_doors hurt whoever blocks them...The amount of damge cause by blocking a door is determined in the entity properties
Its just that. TO make it fair, you would have to have the doors open real fast, and have them stay open for a whil .With all the tweaking involved it would jsut be easier to not have doors.
So that is why I got rid of them...
I think I might just STOP making the map, because since Half Life 2 is around the corner (and it is more then likely Natural Selection 2 will come with it) and also since it takes about 2 years or so to make maps... I just might quit here, and wait for that to come out. It seems I've been recently wrapped up in doing voice acting for two different mods as well as making levels for them.

This is Recoup, jumping into the fray once more to bring back this old topic to inform you that:
Since I have so much free time on my hands, and since Half Life 2 is a while off (September IS a while) I think I might consider bringing the map back as a combat map instead of an NS map. My clan might want to try something new, and since people have been asking for me to bring this thing back, I might as well. But, I will need your support, since I have erased my hard drive, got another one, and need to set up the tools once more. But, I saved my map on the hard drive, so getting that on there should not be a problem. All in favor?
You guys remember that second room? The one after rine start? Well I deleted it and tried again! It is NOT done, so, tell me if I need to add something. I already have ideas for some things. Here we go:
ive resisted on clicking on this thread up till now cos i thought someone was just converting another crappy cs map to ns, this looks great though, u shuld finish it
edit: just looked thru the rest of the thread, not a big fan of the other screens, and turning it into a combat map requires a lot more effort than u think (speaking from experience)
Oh, I am going to finish it, only this time as a combat map, not ns. If Half Life 2 DOES come out in September, NS maps with the old HL engine will be old news.

Ah, It's good to see you're going to continue on this one. Actually the release of hl2 doesn't really mean instant death to hl. As long as there are other people to map and support your work / play it, I think it's ok to map.
Nice work with that massive computer looking thing. It really grabs players' attention. You could use overlays to brighten few of them and maybe make one flicker. Also, that dark grey texture used in the sides of that machine, I don't think that really fits in there.
The ceiling needs some work. If you run out of ideas try walking in some official maps and look how they have solved the problem with dull ceilings. One example ns_eclipse, which uses level differences and varying textures to make ceiling more interesting. Maybe most maps do it, but that's just the map I can remember best.

As for the roof, I thought it looked like crap as well, and have ideas on how to fix it.
