New Problems With Ns And Steam

<div class="IPBDescription">Cant play Ns in steam anymore</div> I used to play a lot of NS a while back but stopped i wanted to start playing again but i got no games in my server list. i copied teh fmod.dll into my halkf life folder and that seemed to work. now the servers come up but when i try to play in the server it says "your .dll [cl_dlls\client.dll] Differs from the servers. can anyone help me with this?


update my spex are:
MSI 3.06 GHz
sound max radeon 9200 128 mb

    If ever the game tells you stuff about .dll business, you should be happy, because it means that the game has been updated. Obviously you need to get the latest version of the game.

    The most current version in beta 3.0b4a - which you can download from the links listed <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=73583' target='_blank'>here</a> at the bottom of the page.

    Failing that - have a look at thansals guid below

    2) Play HL atleast Once via Steam (just booting up the training mission will do).

    3) Download these 3 files:
    ns_install_v3_b1.exe
    ns_v30_b4_patch.exe
    ns_v30_b4a_patch.exe

    4) Install NS V3.0 Beta 1 (ns_install_v3_b1.exe) (This should auto install to steam\steamApps\your@email\half-life\nsp, if it does not, move the NSP folder there).

    5) Install NS V3.0 Beta 4 (ns_v30_b4_patch.exe) (point this at steam\steamApps\your@email\Half-Life\ do NOT include the NSP).

    6) Install NS V3.0 Beta 4a (ns_v30_b4a_patch.exe) (See * at bottom).

    7) Search your Hard drive(s) for folders named nsp.

    8) If you have more than one you messed up.  Goto Step 3.


    If you folow these steps properly you will not get client.dll or map.bsp errors.

    If you are positive you have folowed them corectly then redownload the installer form a different location.

    *There aslo seems to be a bug with, atleast some of, the 4a installers.  Try pointing it at steamApps\your@email\ instead of steamApps\your@email\half-life

    I have exactly the same problem, although mine has the latest update !!
    What shall i do ?!?!

    amphetamarine - read thansals guide, make sure you have followed it to the letter. From my experience, the only time you get client.dll problems is when the server and you had different patches. Recheck the server to make sure its 3.0b4a, and make sure you have all the correct patches up to and including b4a
