wow... longest game i've had on 3.0 Classic is about 50 minutes. On combat, almost an hour.

A good 4-5 hours i believe, back in 1.04 of course.

3 and a half hours back during 2.0. All of the 2.0 games seemed to take a long time, that's why they were so good.

yep, i remember quite distinctively a 3 hour game on 2.0. Ah, those were the days.

You know those servers that really hate the new timelimit in combat games? The ones that set the timelimit to 200 minutes? Yeah...I played a combat game where the game was actually decided by that timelimit. I forget the server, but it was a huge game, at least 14 v 14. The map was the one with the weldable pg, is that daimos? Everyone was obviously lvl 10 by the end. Imagine being a lvl 10 lerk for more than 2 hours (I joined at like the 30 minute mark).

Back in the 1.0x days, before the advent of the JP/HMG rush. On Nano-Grid, once we had an ELEVEN HOUR GAME. Back, forth, around, sideways, in, out... territory kept switching hands, we went from zero hives to three (this was before the ping-of-death, for 1.04+ players) and back down to one...

It was insane and hectic. Finally the Kharaa did manage to steamroll the Marines, but it was very hard-fought, and mostly hinged on the Comm getting too tired to think clearly, and placing a few TFs badly so a Skulk could sneak down beside 'em. Think I may have been one of the few who actually lasted out the entire game. Most of the rest would go Gorge to dump their res when they were ready to leave, or toss down their weapons for a teammate.

THAT was a truly epic game.

Jesus christ...how did you last 11 hours? Did everyone agree to a 10 minute truce or something halfway through for lunch? Or to take a ****?

*Imagines battle-hardened space marines surrendering an epic battle cause they have to go to the bathroom*

hehe, most of the epic games included people leaving/joining/rejoining. though there were often a few realy core people that just wouldn't leave

and if it was one of the games like Tale described (constant fighting back and forth, not turtling and such) its very hard to tear your self away

my best one was a game that went from 3v7 (aVm) to 1v7 (meVs the rines) back up, and finaly to a win for aliens.
Admitadly, that was b/c the rines sucked and never checked maintanence when I was putting it up/lamming the crap outa it

classic = 6 hours - ns_eclipse (played it on lan with a few of my friends...) - 2.0
combat = 3 hours - 2.1 - again, on lan with my friends... faceoff (i think)

lan games last alot longer than any other games.

Well, I dunno about the others, but I let them know when I was going AFK for a minute or three. I'd park myself on the Hive to be ready to fend off an attack if one rolled in while I was off, scamper to the bathroom, then get back.
Food was mostly frozen burritos.. up to pop two or three in the nuke, then back to fight while they cooked.

I remember i played a game that was so insanly long i mean it was at least 6 hours back in 2.00 on bast. And the server i was playin on started to glitch up and it was just wierd. You would be dead then it seemed liek you spawned but you couldnt do any thing then you see a black screen then you spawned and if u built something it would appear like 10-20 seconds after you 1st dropped it. It was insanly fun thought. We never got to end the game fairly because the no 1 was spawning properly and it was just wacked out some times but the reason the rines was was cause the seige was built befor ppl could see it and then the hive's dropped 1 after the other.

And i played a 5 hour game back on 1.04 it was on nancy. We like 3 res nodes and ppl were just camping in base and had a phase to one of their hives so they couldnt get all the attacks like xeno and we just held on for longer and longer. Eventually 2 guys jped to the hive and just hmg's / shottied it down with an inffinate supply of ammo and med's

I never had a 11 hours game, but i once stayed playing for more than 3 and a half hours. It was really fun, we were aliens and had our hives destroyed i think 5 times. Every time they destroyed it we moved to another place all together and manage to built another one. The funny thing is that the marines spent so many resources in sieges cannons turret factorys and HMG that they suddenly had to attack with lmg and no armor, so in a matter of minutes, we took 9 RTs and make them reteat to their base. They planted like 20000 turrets and sieges cannon in base so that gorges could not build Attack towers. Their comm gave everyone welders and heavy armor, so they just keept welding themselves and welding all the god damn turrets.
I am not kiding I went onos 6 times and died in every one of them. It was impossible, once to placed one foot in their base your HP would go to 200 in a second because of the turrets and 10 marines firing constantly did the rest. We spent 1 hour in this position until one crazy onos managed to destroy 3 turrets and digest 2 heavy marines. 2 lerk started fiiring umbra and 4 attacked the base. 1 minute later everything ended. Great game and good team work made it passible.

ns_eclipse, most recent version, almost 4 hours. I played with my best friends and a few guys, and it was a 6 v 5 map, and we, the marines, were locked down inside on of their hives so we basically camped there for a while, until we sieged the OC's around us and then we broke through and began to take res nodes bit by bit, tooth and nail. It was REALLY fun...

Jesus, I really AM a topic killer...

3 hours. The marine base was stuffed with turrets and about 7 TF factories. It was the worlds gayest stalemate since they could never leave their base because we all had 3 hives n all were onos with cloak and they had all upgrades so we coudnt go in...And because I was always true to teh alien team (still am ) I went on the marine team, went commander and sold all the buildings because it was getting nowhere and that **** had to stop this was in 1.04 - 2.0 days or something like that.

ns_nothing has, and still provides the longest games out there I find. I've had a close to 4 hour one with about 6 on each side really early in the morning, 6am - 10am. We won too.

Wait...there was no com why? No one noticed you f4ing, then rejoining rines, then getting in the chair, then recycling everything? Sounds like the marines were just looking for an way to lose with dignity, so they let you sabotage them so they could blame you later. Either that, or they were really really tired and couldn't care less.

Well, I can't remember how long it was. Probably about 2 hours. It was a 3.0 bast PT, I was alien. Wow, that game was awesome. We were down to 0 hives TWICE (with one building of course ). Basically a bunch of us hiding in N-corridor with DCs and OCs waiting for the hive to finish. Heh. We must have rebuilt like 10 hives. That was an awesome game. Really awesome.

edit: oh, btw, aliens won. Really crappy marine team
