Cost Of Turrents

Ok, I just wondering what the cost of turrents REALLY is (in unaltered game). I was playing on a server the other day and I noticed that each time the commander put down a turrent the res pool was reduced by 15. Is this the correct amount??
Also, on one particular server I was a fade cloaked in a large room with a turrent factory waiting for a marine to come along. Then, turrents began to be placed around me. In the end, the commander placed 11 turrents. Is this an example of res editing?
Cheers. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

A forest of turrets.
And grenade spam.
AFAIK turrets cost 16 RUs
The few time's I've played marine it was ridiculous..
there were so many jetpacks, HAs, HMGs, and GLs all over the base that I couldnt have avoided picking one up as I spawned...
Not to mention the HAIL of healthpacks and ammo as we moved in towards the hive....
I just disconnected from that server, and went somewhere else.
It was sick.
I just want to know.
Why do the aliens ever win at all if the game is so unbalanced?
Please tell me the marines are as worse off as the aliens res wise...

Mostly because they don't play well.
There have been so many times where aliens are hanging by a thread but the marines with their HA and HMGs just dont attack.
There was one game I played where we got 3 hives up FAST. I changed to a quick Onos, used a phase gate at a marine exp and managed to kill their CC before they got another one up. While I was doing that 3 marines with HAs and HMGs took out 2 of my hives. It was obvious we should ahve easily won at that point, but a whole team of skulks could not touch those 3 marines with HA and HMGs, and the 20 turrets they had up didnt help either. Skulks just go *pop* once a HMG is pointed at them. They literally took out a whole team of skulks, minus 1 gorge, in under 20 seconds. We waited around the corner for them, and once we attacked, *pop* *pop* *pop* *pop* *pop*. We finally managed to kill them after like an hour and a half, but it was quite rediculous.

Amen! Get your three hives up fast! Get higher evolutions and go tear marnie flesh!
Oh and mechanoid, I like teh signature pic!
Even in "real" games, the 11 turrets around you is quite doable, not so much early on but you had fade w/cloak so it wasnt early. Resources are measured in hundreds instead of thousands tho. (this is from my friends reports, he is a marine player, im a pretty good alien player and we always got some decent teammates, so its not due to aliens being noobs)
on topic:
turet farms are not suposed to happen.
also if you kill their CC IGNORE THE MARINES
just find the inf portals and chomp em down (CC and inf portals taste like chiKAN!)
once there is no CC or inf portals, well you win <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
personaly, for base killing I ignore the onos and go for xenocide
side note if you use xeno and look in the comand concole (wait a sec, CC for marines and CC is the ~ menu LOL) you will see that the actual name of xenocide is DevineWind (gota love that)
also as a note on using Xeno, you want to prime it, then switch to leap to get over the turret forest, and then to bite to chomp up the inf portal/CC and then coup de gras it when you go BOOM
In fact, the other day, my team had 5 onos and we easily took over the enemy base which was infested with turrets.
I'd say the Ono is more of a nuisance than a turret. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
But then again, Onos do cost a hell of a lot to gestate in to. <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo-->

Um... Jon, go back and look how many times it was spelled exactly "turrent". Your cute little "dictionary definition" post doesn't apply. Thanks.
thanks man <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
