How Do I Rollback My Firmware?

<div class="IPBDescription">QUICK!</div> That linksys firmware upgrade mest steam up now it kicks me out of every server i join!

How do i rollback my firmware? some poeple said they did that and they said it works for them, but how would i "roll" it back?

    I would think uninstall then reinstall the old one.

    but how?

    I got the new firmware. You have to open the ports that steam uses...

    :edit: or set up your machine for DMZ through the router config...

    i fixed it, i just rolled back.

    From my Google searches, it appears you can rollback your firmware, but only if you have the original firmware. It's as simple as how you updated the firmware. If you don't have the original, you'll have to find it, or you're sunk.

    Yessir, that's pretty much all you'd have to do to fix this little problem. Rolling back the firmware could work too I suppose, but you'd <i>still</i> have to set the ports again either way.

    Generally when you upgrade firmware, <i>everything</i> gets wiped from the device's memory, including your custom settings (<i>ie: port forwarding settings</i>).

    Simply get the port numbers you'd need to forward for Steam to work, and set them again once the new firmware has been installed.
