Stuck when building

Well, there might already be a topic about this, but I'm not sure, so I'll post it anyway. The problem is that sometimes when you walk around, suddenly a structure appears because the commander wants you to build it there. But when you are standing at the exact same place as the new building you will get stuck and the only thing you can do then is to build the thing, but then you cannot go anywhere. I guess this is a bug, but I don't know if can be fixed (because of Half-Life Engine limitations).

    I had this to as aliens as well. Some time when I am commander I build some thing on a player I dont like.



    P.S i dont really do that but it would be funny no ?

    That's an option <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->. But I still think it's a bug which should be fixed, cause it can be really frustrating. Only thing you can do is type kill on the console or get the commander to sell the building.

    Wouldn't a simple solution, at least gameplay wise, be to let players that collide with new structures be pushed away.

    Implementation wise it just might be easier to have a 'not-allowed-to-build-here' algoritm that checks for player-collisions before placing the structure. There probably is one in there already =], or at least collisions against map objects.

    Another way to solve this would be to let all structures not finished yet but only 'placed', be semi-transparent and completely pass throughable. Not perhaps the nicest of solutions since you want to be able to destroy or remove not finished structures ...

    It have happend to me on numerous occasions that I as an Gorge have become stuck in the structure I am building, very annoying.

    this is a bug in the game that will be fixed.
