Stop Pestering The Modellers.

<div class="IPBDescription">A fair request.</div> Every now and then, some amazing stuff comes up in the modelling forum. But I've started to notice a scary new pattern emerging, Which is that fact that some people in this forum are pestering the modellers to release unfinished work, or release it in a way that they do not wish to do, (whether that be an Exclusive download, a pack, or an individual model)

I was especially looking forward to Dillinja's Spec Ops2 pack, but alas. It seems as if he's been pushed off the edge by certain people in this forum:

<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->
ok at this point the model pack dies read it here

thrill 2 kill forum

i just decided that if you guys will get these models you will only get it as a finished pack

the behaviour of some people are not acceptable and because of this i wont give you my freetime anymore

and i decided to take my models and skills to a mod team

cu around
<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

The link he gave is now dead, so I never read in detail why he left. But its clear he wasnt happy with the behaviour of people in this forum. I was aware that BrigadierWolf, another talented modeller, left under the same circumstances some time ago too.

So I'm asking you to behave yourselves in future. There really is no need to beg the creator to "<b>Omg release?!!?</b>" when its quite clear the model/pack isnt finished, or an "<b>update</b>" when the creator just doesnt have the time to work on the model.

Its this kind of pestering thats driving people mad, And it needs to stop.
I almost hesitated to post this thread, but now I feel that it needs to be said.

I hope you understand.

On a related note, don't be all PMing modellers with dumb requests. Some requests are fine, like people asking for pointers and little bits of help with modelling, but even then you need to be polite. It's rude to assume a modeller will take time out of his or her day to work on your project - he's probably busy enough working on his own stuff.

    oh btw...

not... 100% true... but I think Delarosa or BigBull or some other guys that actually read that thread (and were more involved than me) can say all the facts...

As far as I know this was the result of the "Bigbull left NSA" thingy...

and that some modellers should take down their models.... or something like that (sorry but... uh... I didn't get the whole story myself, yet 0_O )

I agree with supernorn2000. I was planning on starting to do some models for NS but now I'm not sure if I will. Modellers do this for fun and for others to enjoy it. They got lives, so it's not as if they do this 24/7. Modelling takes time and requires a lot of patience. If you people cannot be patient enough you do not deserve to get the models they make.

We have a whole section devoted to requests/ conversions/original ideas, its located here:

    <a href='http://www.nsarmslab.com/studio/login.php' target='_blank'>http://www.nsarmslab.com/studio/login.php</a>

Many of the people that have left the NS modeling community still work with us behind the scenes to keep new and innovative things going. My suggestion is that you don't bother modelers and just either post on these forums or post on ours here and let us know what your ideas are and if we can pull it off. We currently have about 4 requests we are working on that we think will benifit the NS gaming community as a whole.

    Our forum link is here:
    <a href='http://www.nsarmslab.com/forums/' target='_blank'>http://www.nsarmslab.com/forums/</a>

We would need samples (pictures) of what it is you would like to see come to life for NS.

This does need to be said.

I am not a good modeler, ai am not a great host, i am not a great skinner or animator, but even *I* have recived PMs about finishing my WIP projects.

CoolCookieCooks, a close friend of mine has to periodically clear out *EVERY* post in his PM list... and all he does is skinmesh.

He reads the co-lab forums... instead of PMing *ONE* person, please, post up your model, (give a download), include a picture, and a short description.

the amount of people you can reach by posting is on a grander scale than if you choose to PM somone.

post it, don't private message it.

well i pmed like 2 people and got skinmeshers for my arcade faster than i have, considering NO ONE has posted in my req for a mesher thread...yet.

    I agree 100%

Every forum has its own form of spam... It really bothers me when someone posts something like "Im using this!" or "Downloading now!" its information that is absolutely USELESS!

Think twice before hitting the add reply button, make constructive posts and not ones that serve no purpose other then to inflate your post count.

id have to disagree with you on this one those are put pretty much into the release threads so its not likely the pack is going to change and when some one says that its like saying good work or good job on the model so its not realy spam
  • DillinjaDillinja Join Date: 2003-09-04 Member: 20563Members
i decided to cancel the pack for public because some of you are fighting a little war on the forums, example bull on the asarmslab side (now t2k) and delarosa on the other.

this is just one point of the story but this whole exclusive **** and dont let them host it blablabla even of some modelers, btw i did it as a nsarmslab favour because i wanted to help build the site up i never knew it would go into such a direction so i decided screw it, and when i asked delarosa he said he wouldnt even host them even if he would be allowed because he thinks im a bad modeler (unneccesary highpoly etc.)

none of you gets it, for now. it really is sad the t2k forum entry isnt available anymore because what you guys made there is just dirty this whole thing about getting people to remove there work from a custom site because you have personal differnces with em. and i bet no i know it that none of half of those you supportet the fight knew anything about the reasons.

btw if never seen a forum wich was so persistant about hosting rights

now lets all have a cooki

again this is a thing happened out of the bahaviour of the REGULARS not of any newbies on the forums.

and just a tip i allready gave in another thread

go out have fun meet friends but please dont let a video game dictate your life

actually, i don't think i ever said that...

i do remember saying that i wouldn't host them because you had requested that i not. (if NSA goes down, i will *still* respect your request for exclusive hosting)

... i'm sorry that i said it in a way that did not make 100% clear what i meant.

it's not about modeling skills, but respect to exclusive hosting rights.

meh id rather believe the horse's mouth so to speak, is dill sushiFX?
Is this why I can’t find any beautiful spec opts models pictures on nsarmslab now?

If so.. That’s brutally pathetic to have some great work vanish due to the fact a few individuals couldn’t keep their composure.

I want to be left out of the exclusives war as much as I can I like to kinda run away from arguements as fast as I can however seeing as most the stuff (No all the stuff) I've released goes under the flag "T2K Exclusive" I thought I ought to say something.

First off all the NS Customisation sites are fine. Each one of you has something for everyone. True some people may not like using T2K or NS Arms Lab and even though there may have been some shady politics on both sides but that shouldn't count now. Just do your jobs and please stop acting like world powers every once in a while. Theres nothing wrong with a little competitive squabbleing but when it gets in the way of the whole perpose of the modelling group then people get annoyed and leave.

The second thing is my stuff is are T2K exclusives because when I wass attempting to make some leeway into modelling I could easilly find help within T2K. The members and or course Delarosa have been so helpful and continue to be. If I have a problem I can go to the T2K IRC channel and I should have an answer to the problem in about 5 minutes. There was also the fact that I knew of Thrill2Kill in the 1.0 days and went there as the first stop for customs which is something thats kinda lived on.

In closing, all the modeling sites are good. None are better than others. Now lets stop this petty arguement and get back to what we were all doing in the first place. The models. Before a whole load of other respected modellers decide to leave.

Dill dont even put my name out there.

That t2k thread wasnt even about being exclusive.

That thread was turned around in a snap by your NSA guys.

please keep my name out of this thread, and out of blame.
If you want to blame anyone, dont blame me, blame the people that REALLY started this.

Also, I think alot of the better modelers leave becasue people dont hold thier tongues. I believe Brig left because I guess he didnt feel appreciated? Or probably because noone else could produce the quality work. But who I am to say what he thinks right? COUGH

Also, alot of them have been banned by the ns forum, and if you notice ever since 3.0 came out, I.E Combat all the n00bs came in, and destroyed the forum. You <b>Call it what you want but honestly I think the ns community is bigger than the T2k, NSA ****.
Its a cheap scapegoat, and I dont think any site deserves it.</b>

Alot of people blame me for the spec ops disaster, but honestly the little thing with me WASNT EVEN ABOUT DILL OR HIS SPEC OPS, if I recall he came in the thread and started he own thing. And Ill tell you another thing Al gorge, dill's so called friend has always told Dill that noone deserves his models, if they say one negative one thing about it. Its always been like that.
If this starts a flame war, dont blame me, blame what you have pushed everything into.

And Supernorn i Respect you alot on these forums, but where is this coming from honestly?
How are you involved in this in anyway or are you just a concerned bystander that wants his spec ops pack?
    I just dont know anymore <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

My post was never angry, nor resentful, but truly the way I feel.

I think your the one that takes things way too far.

    Example: Spec ops 2.

Over something stupid, you took it down from the public.

Please stop focusing on one thing I say, and read the whole post.

Welcome to my hell. Im this freaking close |-| to leaving this forum for good. Im sick of the ****. "Things" attacking modelers saying OMF RELALALKOI OA ROFLCOPTER!. Hence why I hardly EVER convert anymore and if I do I don't show off it. Otherwise I will be attacked by these <i>beasts</i> . I'm tired of this crap. Firstly NSarmslab you came here thinking you were top dog and thinking you will win the popularity with flashy graphics and a modeller. Trust me that attitude only attracts smacktards so nice work. And to be honest Im tired of both Thrill to Kill , Nsarmslab and any other site. Its all "HHAHA IVE GOT THIS MODEL AND THEY DONT LOZLOZLZOZL" To be honest I dont care. You are ment to be helping the community.

LOOK OUT GAME FUSION THERE IS A NEW FAGGOT IN TOWN WANTING MONEY!! Oi nsarmslab you want to host a website . You pay for it. But it seems you just ASK for money and expect them to give it to you. Whats the donations for? Oh just keeping the site up for longer so they can leach more money. You do not provide anything. You don't help us. You spam our threads with advertiseing. And you think your top ****.

I could go ranting on for hours about how much this site **** STINKS but It might make the admins of these sites scream "OMG BANT!!"

If you can't afford to host a site then don't host it.
