Plz this needs to be explained by a dev
Why is there a limit on them, you say most of us aint playing it right and that we need to build webs but the thing is i cant web up my hives to a certain degree because there seems to be a limit, i mean go forbid i may be able to web my hives up but what about the RN's, with the marines using HMGS and NADE LAUNCHERS i supposidly have reeched my web limit so i cant get the marines stuck and my turrets to take em out.

Plz if your going to put a limit on them make it about 5x more than it is now.

I agree. There needs to be a limit, but it should be higher than it is. I'm not sure why this limit was placed. Maybe it has something to do with performance reasons. There are also other ways to protect the hive. Build a lot of defense chambers by offensive chambers and each defese chamber will raise their health 10 hp per pulse. Also have your team make use of every alien class. The splash on the fade is good for shooting at corners and getting any mariens that are around the corner. Granted it isn't a grenade launcher but it is under rated in my opinion. An umbra cloud is also good.

Any tips on aiming webs? I can never get them to consistently stick from one side of a corridor to the other. They do annoying things like run parallel to the wall...

my best advice is to make dialnals remember each web leads of from the other so make triangles and star shapes so never go along the wall go to opposites

The web is one continuous strand, not a bunch of small segments.

Also, I just finished up on a game with a guy who built something insane, like, 6 defensive chambers in each hive.

In fact, when we were trying to take back our maintance hive in eclipse, he got under the floor and built 10 chambers!

I would, as a skulk, run up, take 3 bites of a turret, dive back down, be healed instantaniously, and then go back up...

Now, when the marines with jetpacks came in to kill those chambers, I would sit on the wall, really quiet, and _really_ cloaked. They would come down, and crouch under the floor.... sitting, fresh meat.

3 bites and it was all over. eventually, we cleared out the room, got 3 hives up, got 2 fades and an onos to siege teh enemy base...

We went from 1 hive and cornered to totally stomping on the marines, and coming back winning.

The web is always created between the point you've hit and the last point you've hit. So if you shoot the wall, than shoot the opposite wall the web will stick between them, but if you shoot the same wall again it will run parallel to it.

The limit only prevents a place being completely webbed to death. If you want to web 2 places, which are very close to each other, you'll have to distribute your available web count on them.

you really only need 3 strands of web across a givin hallway in order to consider it impassable. I webbed up a hallway a good number more than that before i hit the limit, spead your webs out, don't just gum up 1 hallway, put 3 or 4 in each one you come across

The limits are there for performance reasons. Too many webs can crash a server or really hinder performance, so limits were placed. And it definitely also prevents web spam in every room, everywhere, all over the map.

The problem is i dont wanna webb up the entire area just the hives and a few resource nodes, i mena on some maps there is at least 3 entances to a hive and that say about 7-9 entrances i mena i cant web them effectively to stop marines i mean i could only really stop about 2 marines but when they come in 3-5 those turrets are dead, all im asking is just boost it a tad more atm u cant really defend all the hives/nodes well with webs.

And you shouldn't. An effective defense consists of many different techniques.
