<div class="IPBDescription">Be informed about crap that concerns you</div>You might have played a game or two where you had to be alien, becuase building up forces against nothing isn't fun. (you have to take my word on this one : )
As you might guess, I've been this person... many times.
It's not that being aliens isn't fun, but that it isn't fun being constantly crushed by people who are handi-capable or just plain special.
The people who play as marines need no skill to win; with their grenades, heavy armor/weapons, and sentry guns-- they pretty much have it made.
You may have heard the saying "PRIVLIAGES COME WITH RESPONSIBILITY", which led me to thinking about the situation between the Aliens and Marines.
**Alien turrets should take off much more damage, as it shoots once every second, while human turrets fire multiple damaging rounds.
**Human grenades should severely damage their own structures and kill their own team-mates. (it's definately not fun to have a marine protect their base by spamming grenades into it -instantly killing any alien who tries to destroy it. grenades also take out whole alien bases in a matter of seconds.)
**Heavy armor and heavy weapons are a definate advantage. Just 2 or 3 of these guys can pave the walls with alien A**.
Just one can easily beat an Onos (highest alien life-form) if he sees one comin.
*****And the human's ability to jump around like rabbits. You have got to be shitting me if you believe a man with a weapon in a suit of armor can jump like that (not talking about jet-packs, but regular jumping).
After all... if you don't even the fun on both sides, who is going to play aliens? And like I said before; playing against nothing isn't fun... you might as well make it single player.
