I'd like to hear what the playtesters thought of as decent strategies in combatting a mass of turrets sitting on hive #3, as that's pretty much the nail in the coffin (albiet being over an hour away) for the alien team.
Aliens need anti-turret measures that don't require hive 3, or turrets need to cost more/have a reasonable limit/have less health.
Today, I won four games in a row as alien. How did this happen? Good teamwork and... marines didn't build with a dozen turrets on point three.
I read somewhere that marines turret spamming point three happened in pretty much every playtest, but I'm lost as to how that sort of thing was recovered from. If they turret spam their own base and one hive point, the game's pretty much over.
So is it true that this was a common tactic, and there are ways to deal with it? Turrets are what win the game for marines.
Grenade launchers might kick ###, but most all of the wins (let's say, four out of five games are won by marines and three of those come from immense turret spam) come from the health the turrets have and the amounts allowed in one area.

Plan, 2-3 fades (depends on amount of players) 1 lerk 1 gorge, gorge builds offensive and defensive chambers, lerk shrouds all in umbra cloud... fades bomb the turrets and marines while building, when building is done fades (under umbra clouds) attack the turrets and return to get healed when they are low on health, rinse repeat untill turrets are gone (today i actually did all that with 1 fade vs 7 turrets...
btw as a fade evolve CARAPACE when ure taking down turrets.... u last VERY much longer
celerity u get in faster and can dodge a little better
and the last one doesnt matter.....
if ha dudes show up... give them some rockets and retreat
if they stay bomb them with rockets webs and spikes, as long as youre in umbra cloud with 4-5 defence chambers... u win <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->
problems to this plan... grenade has.... well... the fade have blink... practice using it, blink to the ha gren dude... rip him apart.... <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->
Im glad to hear that <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> thanks, now the marines will feel the pain! Well usally we dont turret spam, and it ends up all marines being pinned down in a corner covered with things just waiting for a onos to come and kill em... (Happend to me twice today, was very fun too <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> )
me(lerk with carapace and cloack) 2 skulks and a fade rushed in a room with almost 10 turrets, and raped them, then attacked another base..... and another one and another one, we killed half of the marine bases in less than 2 mins withouth healing, just rushed directly into the damned turrets, and slay em all, i found out that lerks are so much powerfull than a skulk, and they do as much damage as them, and much more. Also they can just fly away but always get carapace with them because they are fragile.
