Co-op Games

<div class="IPBDescription">Post yer favourites!</div> So me and my friend bought Serious Sam a few days ago (read: yesterday).
It was fun playing co-op and all, but it got boring at the end, which fortunately wasn't too far.

We loved the fun parts though, and now want more!

I remember seeing a list of all the co op games the PC has got to offer,
but search returned nothing (google neither)

So if anyone would be kind enough as to post that list again, I would appreciate it.

While we're at it, post your favourite co-op games and why you liked them!

(not sven co-op plskthx)

<a href='http://www.blackcatgames.com/swarm' target='_blank'>Alien Swarm</a> is some good Coop action for Unreal Tournament 2004. It's loads of fun, but hard, especially when you have a sophomoric group of people to play with. :\

Yea I liked the concept alot, but my comp cant handle UT 04.

It's yet to come out, but play the demo and you'll be convinced to buy it (demo's in the download sections). The game is simply amazing when it comes down to it, the graphics are stunning for this type of game, the physics are incredable (<b>extreamly</b> heavy tanks (german panzer, tiger) can plow through flimsy structures, shoot the clock tower on top to have rubble fall onto and destroy the vehicle/infantry below, it makes your tactics near limitless) and the replay value is something to be seen.

Combine all this with a co-op mode and online mutliplayer mode for up to 16 players, and I think I've got your game right here..

System Shock 2 is a great game with coop, although it can get a bit laggy at times.

And if that's not old school enough for you, there's always Doom and Duke3d, both of which have modern source ports to update their graphics and add netplay.

OR if those are <i>too</i> old, Halo can be quite fun, as long as you ignore the level design.

<b>Bubble Bobble and Parasol Stars (Arcade)</b> The latter has more teamwork, but both are good. If you don't happen to have (say) a C64 lying around, you can get it for a GBA, and it comes with a link up cable. I had Parasol Stars for some neo-geo handheld affair; I can't remember the name of it, though. It was ahead of its time. BC Kid 1 and 2 were beautiful on it.

<b>Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Arcade version)</b> Better than the SNES version because it's 4 players instead of 2. Not that I use emulators in any way, shape or form nor endorse their use, I recommend you get an emulator for it and try it out. With gamepads, all four of you can be whomping Shredder in no time.

<b>Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck: The Subtitle I Can't Remember (Megadrive)</b> Don't laugh. This was a really good co-op game for the Megadrive. When played two player, Mickey and Donald could combine their various abilities to access new places. The game path changed on whether you played Mickey, Donald or together. They fought with magical scarves. magical scarves

Agreed, anyone up for some SS2?

Perfect Dark. Really fun, but it should have been on PC instead of N64. Didn't run well at all.

    House of the dead 3
    Time Crisis 3

    just about the only 2 arcade games i play <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

on consoles, hmm, thats a tough one, i don't tend to play co-op much, for one reason.

a distinct lack of real world friends
i only know 3 people who have a GC(know well)

    Most FPS games have good Co-op (perfect dark anyone <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->)

Halo, despite its crappy level design and i can't stand the controller

Conflict:desert storm quite fun, screaming at the other person to come and heal you after you just got blasted by a tank

Dude they had this for Genesis too.

It was so awesome, remember how you could fling Mickey or Donald up on the see-saw when you couldn't jump to an area? Then dangle your scarf down and pull the other guy up? Such a freaking cool game, I remember playing it for hours with my sister when I was like five.

That's the one, baby. It has got to be the best thing Disney is responsible for (although that's not saying much). That game causes me to suck the nipple of Mother Memory greedily. More of that delicious milk, please. <b>More, I say!</b>

(The Genesis is just the American name for the Megadrive, by the way. The same way the Super Famicom is the same as the SNES.)

It doesn't really count, but Splinter Cell: Pandora Tommorrow MP. Sure, it's not a game of co-op against an AI enemy, but it has the feel of such a game. SC 3 is going to have co-op, and I am looking forward to it eagerly.

my other favorite coop games include: halo 2, even though it's not out yet.. lol

    the super mario series. ^_^

the seiken denetsu (secret of mana) series.

    neverwinter nights.

    operation flashpoint.

diablo II was a fun coop, admittedly.

    ragnarok online.
