<div class="IPBDescription">Coming to YOU!</div> That's right kiddies, I'm making a new map: ns_vertigo. Here is the imagine I scanned with my HORRIBLE scanner after I hand-drew it on my coffee table that I made in woodshop, with some sprucing in Paint and Photoshop 7.

The green blobbies are hives
The black circles are res towers
The red lines are areas elevated above normal ground
The yellow dotted lines divide the level into sectors

Whos your daddy? The room in the very bottom left is the Marine Start. Small, but affordable...

    avoid long hallways and large rooms.

    make sure you break it up with snake-like passageways, crates, and similar items to block line of sight and possible long-range snipe points.

    ladders with hight variations are godlike for breaking up high-polygon hallways.

    The top two hives shouldnt be linked like that.

    There was something in the layout notes for making NS maps that the aliens should have to go towards the middle of the map to reach another hive, otherwise gorges can just avoid conflic completley. And that room outside marine spawn is HUGE! Eitther that or marine spawn is too small. Keep in mind that a commander must be able to build a base in that area.

    Try keep the hives out of line of sight from other rooms. So you actually have to go into the hive room to shoot at it. Try and fix up those corridors leadign to the hives. The one on the right is way too open. If you want to leave it like, make it like Drill hive in ns_mineshaft, with the many obstacles and such (just start a lan game and look at some of these places).

    Its still in its planning stages so, dont get TOO picky... and yes, crates wil be aplenty... so here is a revised version:

    oh haha.

    Heres my revision of it.

    I felt it needed to be a little more broken up from room to room. (too many 45 degree walls goign into other rooms is bad for wpolys and gives too much line of sight)

    The blue spots are ladders/lifts/ramps

    Trust me, what is on paper wont exactly LOOK the same in VHE, because I usually try and transform the room according to what I've seen. Example, the room AFTER marine start will be appearing smaller then on paper, and the room in the middle will be HUGE.

    I havent even gotten the marine start room done! But that is because I've been adding so many details...

    BTW: That long halway at the VERY bottom where the hive location is, is a sewer area.

    And now, HERES A PICTURE of the work I've been doing (the hard stuff)

    That sign, the Level 1 sign is gone, I deleted it while it was compiling so dont expect to see it again. Also, by the door, there is a flickering red light. I just didnt capture the screen while it was flashing.

    Some misalignment I see... that level 1 hologram for example.

    The electricity is a tad too transparent, brighten it a bit.

    That monitor to the left is very thick... can you make it a bit smaller?

    looks good, only thing I dont like is the monitor on the generator. Maybe its the side tetures I dunno

    Nexus it's not good practice to quote with images, it just wastes peoples bandwidth - simply remove the images from the quote or just make a comment on it's own.
