Is it?
someone told me that flayra was saying in irc the problem was that marines are gaining resources to fast? is this true? cause if u think about it they do get ha and gl and hmg etc. very fast
Well I don't believe this is true, yes they do get them fast but a good skulk can easily take out some marine guy with a heavy armor and a hmg, the only thing I find is annoying is those nade launchers pwning the alien structures. Although if a skulk attacks a marine with a nade launcher the marine is done for, teamwork is the only way to really defeat the marines, and vica versa The only thing is the marines are really forced to do teamwork because of the commander mode, the aliens has to organize this for themselves, which people haven't really understood yet.
"A good skulk can take out a Heavy Marine with an HMG"
AHAHAhAH! Whew... Good one.
With the normal 60 ping maybe. Try that #### with 500-800 ping. Oh... and goodluck finding a public server. All servers with open spots are locked.
"Well maybe you just SUCK!"
Give me a movie with a skulk killing an Heavy with an HMG then maybe I'll believe that one. I'm talking about a marine with semi-decent aiming skills.
Oh, and here's a tip... Turret Limit. Think about it.
Another thing. Never say you've released a 'full version' of mods. Just release it and say it's a public beta. There will be a lot less flames because people think that they are helping out by reporting the imbalence.
Yes a skulk with full upgrades can easily kill a marine with full armor and hmg, think about it, with lvl 3 cloaking, silence and carapace those things are deadly.
stand still for half a sec and your totally invisible, the marine will go: "wtf" look around and when he turns his back, jump at him and bite him in the back, quickly climb up in the roof or something and cloak, jump down, bite bite bite, marine is dead, also remember to be active jumping, marines can't hit you if you move good enough.
It takes lots and lots of training, and thats the way it is supposed to be.
Also this IS a beta, it's not a full version. Ns beta 1.0 As much as the team propably appreciates comments about the game and how to make it better i'm just telling him that I find the system to be good as it is.
This is as close to official as you're going to get (if "official" is Flayra telling you himself).
Yes, the resource system is bugged right now. Resource points are given far too quickly and in far too great amounts, especially for marines. This will be addressed in the next patch, as it is -critical- to gameplay as the game was designed.
This is not a quote from anyone, btw. This is coming from me.
The resource system, once corrected, will prevent all the building (especially turret) spamming and super-fast upgrade frenzies that are happening now
Haha, well i have killed guys with HMGs and those ultra armors, with a non upgraded Skulk, not to hard or very hard , you just have to find the weakness, one guys weakness was that i circled around him and chewed him to pieces while jumping, + climbing up on the walls to make bigger confusion, then he died, well my health was low but he was dead
yes but thats only if its a good player vs a noob but if its noob vs noob marine wins and same with norm vs norm, even teh same if the noob was a fade it is still hard to kill (although i can prettry easily) but if the aliens want to save up and get something good it will take ages and if the marine wants a say hmg and hvy armour he will get it in 2 sec and get 5 of em and have a ton of resource to spare so

The marine doesnt know the skulk is there until he's dead.
thats why they can climb around in the ceilings and can be 100% cloaked.
