Oc¸s On Rt¸s

<div class="IPBDescription">or why does Flayra hate me so much ????</div> Ok guys i dont know if you have realized that it is now impossible to place an OC on an RT. I was one of the first who used this tactic (eventually the inventor <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->, i use it since 1.0x).
To place an OC on an RT you had to move under the big sack of the RT, jump up and place an OC. The OC was, if good placed, up to 3/4 cover by the RT. So it was very hard to kill the OC and the RT was covered. Heh i mean this was a way to protect the RT a little bit but now you must build 2-3 OC?s and some dc?s to cover an RT because 1 OC which is not covered by an RT dont survive for long. I?ve never seen any person who said that this placing is overpowered or bug using. So why was it taken out ?
Does Flayra hate me (well he dont know me and i dont know him) or is Flay on a mission to eliminate all Fun in NS ?

What do you think about it ?

P.S. sorry for my bad english <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Jumping was nerfed so that you can't jump on top of RTs anymore. Thusly, you can't place something up there. Climb on top of the RT and try.

    heh i am not dump. i also tryed to jump on an rt.
    But now it is impossible to place an OC directly near or on the RT and i am asking why.

    I want the freaking OC on RT placing back because i love it <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    You're not allowed to put chambres on resource nozzles anymore because of too many problems with people blocking them, accidental or not. If you put a chambre too close to the node (or on it), you can't build the RT.

    no its not... it's just plain rude...

    what happens:

    the Resource hit box takes alot of the damage, ir not all, so you have to destroy the RT before you can destroy the OC...

    or (i'm guessing) that the OC and rt hitboxes neighbor eachother so as you hit the RT hitbox, it flintches, exposing the OC hitbox, which you hit up until the RT HB comes back around...

    it's alot like the rt is "taking a bullet" for the OC. this detection is only 1-way... alien shots (oc spike) don't get stopped by alien hitboxes... so the OC can continue to fire.

    You mean you still can't do this?

    I recall placing structures on nodes just the other day... or so I thought...

    yeah, you can still place structures on a built RT

    You can put them way up top of an RT, it just won't sink inside the node anymore and you usually can't get there by yourself. I think the original poster is talking about how you could jump into the node from the floor and drop an OC in there because there was no substance to it before 3.0. Now that the entire surface of the node registers damage, there's no way in hell we can allow OCs to be built inside them anymore(or aliens to hide in them, etc).

    Or build a DC or OC to get up to the rt.

    I wouldn't put an OC there. If the resource nozzle was close to your hive then the marines might just kill the RT and leave the OC so you can't build the res node.

    to be fair it also looked a tad stupid.. the OC kinda appeared at random places from the top sac of the res node - doubtful some thing that was intended for the game :s

    Heh folks, everybody moan about how easy it is to kill an alien RT. Many people want Flayra to put something in like Umbra RT´s but this wasn´t nessecary because you already had a good possibility to defend the RT with 1 OC. And dont say its a lame tactic. When u say its lame then you must also say that elec marine RT´s are lame. An Elec RT from the rines is similar to this tactic because an elec RT could only be taken out at long range without taking damage just as well as an RT with an OC on it. So you can say this was an upgraded Alien RT. And it was also possible to eliminate the OC´s without shooting the RT first yoou only must aim high engough. But this tactic was very important because when an Marine attacks an upgraded RT you have more time to React because every marine tries first to kill the OC with his lmg which costs time and ammo.

    I hope you all got the point <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I mean this could have been an exploit but this exploit doesnt hurt anybody except the marine standing before the rt <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->. And i really never heard anybody who said to me that this is a lame tactic and as i said already i use this tactic since the beginning of NS. If anybody could give me a good reason why Flayra took it out i am already happy.

    After 4 mins the OC on the RT is also useless because marines got weapon upgrades and bigger weapons. So it is the same.

    Uh, that tactic where you disguise an OC in the resource tower's "sack" <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Putting an OC ontop of an RT is no longer lame since it doesn't sink in very far. The old way was like getting electrify for 10 res instead of 30.
