<div class="IPBDescription">A game mode of 1.04</div> I was talking with some of my old buddies today about how things were back in 1.04 and how much we liked it better than the combat ridden NS of today.Thats when I thought of the idea, why don't we simply have a game mode of NS 1.04 for those of us who would rather play NS as it was not as it is now. Make maps named nso_ or such. Now I have no idea how much effort it would take to convert 1.04 to a steam useable format but I know a good many people who loved if this was release.
Those of you who just want to flame, "How can you like that jp/hmg rules, hive control game", can stuff it I don't care.

Though a game totally appart that is just a port of 1.04 to be steam compatible should be possible. I doubt this would go past the stade of curiosity or nostalgia though... I know I won't play it more than a couple of times with some friends.

Sorry, I do appreciate what the NS team has done for us. But THE only good thing that has happend after 1.04 is the server/speed improvment.
Now I dont say that the NS team should drop all they are doing right now to make this happend. Just that they think it over because its a great idea. Maybe something for NS 2 (HL2?) a Nostalgia mode.
Meh, I'm just rambling, need sleep.
set your server filter to ns maps only... that's what i usually do. although a few rounds of co every once in a while can be relaxing. u just get to shoot at things mindlessly... (not complaining)
sigh... i started right after 2.0, and it's very frustrating to hear people tell stories about "the good old times". =/ and and there isnt any 1.04 servers, not that i know of anyway?
Yeah, me too. That's one of the biggest things i miss, sitting in the marine base trying to come up with a strategy, and hearing the Onos roar in the distance and just thinking "Oh no..."

But i fear that its not only the Game. The former community was smaller and everybody was nice. You had not so much problems with rambos and other things.
If you want to have the old version you must also change the community and this is impossible.
