Im lost...
k, thsi may, or may not have been asked, but from my post count, i obviously havent been up-to-date on the forums. lol, well I was in the media folder from the main NSP folder (C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\[my-email]\half-life\nsp\media) and I was wondering what the "trailer" and "uwe" video files were. I cant view then because my WMP says "Download Codec Error" and i duno wat codec i need to view em. What are these for? When are they supposed to viewed, if they even are. I can listen to the sound from em,and it sounds cool, but i cant view em. Anyone know what their uses are? ;

It was the ns intro in 2.0 and a teaser for 2.0 2 weeks before its release.
It was basicálly marines pressing a button, ralking along a hallway, seeing a cloakefd skulk, being happymealed by another one. All in hl engine added some video effects, ambience and dust.
Same location as the 3.0x menu backround, just from marine view.
I for one am glad that they are not played (as I can watch em any time I want, instead of every time I wana play ns)
Actually it was taken out as a feature(from HL itself). So I doubt it'd be brought back
They have been implemented in 3.0beta1 but have been taken out in the next build because of some codec/compability issues. To view them you have to have the divx codec installed. Check your ../nsp/media folder for a file called startupvids.txt and add the following 2 lines:
media\uwe.avi
media\trailer.avi
Now the Intro video should be showing everytime you start NS. I personally always liked some kind of introduction vid and hope they'll put it back in.
Agreed.
most atmospheric(not really the word i'm looking for but it'll do) intro ev4r
Intros are good, as long as you can skip them, not Rareware style

Only once though.
