I need help with upgrades for aliens

<div class="IPBDescription">Hmaaaa//?</div>There's something I'm not getting or understanding. You can do upgrades to yourself like, silence. But in every game I play there's some that you can't get. Like some of the defensive upgrades. How do you develop them? Do you have to be a builder and build a building or is it something that happens with time? K THNX

    In order to select upgrades, someone (in the role of the gorge) must build at least one of the associated upgrade chamber, and there must be a hive to support that upgrade type.

    So, for example, if you want carapace, (we're assuming there is a hive that is built and does not have an upgrade type associated with it yet) someone on the alien team must build at least 1 defensive chamber.  When that happens, you will see a defensive upgrade symbol flash on the right side of your screen.  THEN you can choose one of the upgrades attached to the defensive upgrade in your menu.  Each time another defensive chamber is built (up to 3), your upgrade ability will automatically increase in effectiveness.

    How do you build a defensive chamber. I see them but I don't know how to do it. My build opinions are Build offesnive thing, then buid hive, and build resources thing.     ah I figured it out today ingame. You have to have all 3 hives to get all the upgrades. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->


    Second Question.
    While in game sometimes the resources are at 33/33 and sometimes they jump up to 100/100, then go back down to 66/66 when you have two hives.

    What I'm wondering is what you have to do to make it go to 100/100 so that you can build a hive. Do you have to have a certain number of resource points or is it time delayed.
