The one problem with bite, I've become dizzy and nearly sick after a drawn-out battle against a Marine. Only happened a few times, but it was very disorienting and forced me to stop playing.
I don't get dizzy from playing any game ever any more. I remember playing doom 1 ages ago and allmost feeling weird steping out of heights and when turning quickly, I even got sick-ish once. Then I played descent, felt a bit weird after a little play time until I got desensitized. Years later now nothing gives me a headache except 60Hz refresh rate and nothing makes me feel even slightly funny, not even setting cl_yawspeed to 50000 and typing +right in the console and jumping up and down while biting, nothing.

people are talkijng about flash, but its not a light flash like muzzleflash or nades, its from the teeth covering all the screen then uncovering,so the whole monitor gives a darker light, then a bright light rapidly.thus flashing
a muzzleflash is a small animmation that doesnt appear as strongly
<!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif' /><!--endemo--> is different than your comp screen acting like a strobe light
everyone is making up excuses and ****,, why not get to the fact its just plain annoying <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->, if a skulk can get to ur feet you should be getting hit if not go down, althou i can play w the teeth and ive gotten used to it, i still wish they had the option to move it.
i can give u some custom models to remove both but u cant use them during wars so getting used to them is kind of a bum out
and this is the first FPS ever to block you from removing teeth/gun models from the screen, the fact some people think its cheats is like the other end of the stick when ppl say they lose 30 frames per second from it.
Back in the older ns version, my muzzle flash disappear when i join a game with large amount of people. After i die, it come back. It easy to get disorienated by the bite animation, happan to be a lot when the rine start running and jumping around, so i clearly stay to the ambush tactic. The best idea is to bite when you are sure that it hit, not holding on biting...bite spam is the numba one cost of skulk deaths.
find a server where the admins say they don't object to you playing with custom models (ie no bite animation) for that reason, and just stick on there...
if you clear it with the admins up front first in private, explain to them your condition, i don't think any decent admins would object (as long as you don't get on the server and screw over their games <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->) ...

One of the reasons CAL is thinking about enforcing mp_consistency is to prevent people from using models that give them advantages over those that play with default models. Whether we're talking about skulk teeth, guns, or the actual player models themselves (we could go even further into sounds and sprites) - certain modifications give you a significant competitive edge in various aspects of play. These go beyond simplifying the game's controls or customizing the crosshairs. They actually improve visibility, remove distractive elements, improve ESP (external sensory perception). There's really no limit as to how far you can take customizing.
Somewhere, you have to draw the line as to what modifications are legal and then enforce those rules - something that CAL has not done in the past with NS.
There is something called Photographer's toolkit that originated out of the artwork section. The original purpose is to remove all weapons, and sprites to make it an all clear screen to take snapshots during the game.
The toolkit is a compilation of clear weapon models, crosshairs, and hud sprites.
You can go look for it in the artwork section under the thread: Combat photography or something...
well this was my shot at helping this guy. it is about 5 seconds of work in jeds model viewer of making view_lev1_bite1.bmp additive and chrome so you can tell the teeth are in front of u but unless your looking for them u dont really notice them while biting.

Most likely you'll get desensitized as well.
Ii honestly dont see anything wrong with changing skins to fit your personal preferrence <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
What if my personal preferrence was for all skins to be BRITE white, with a big red hitbox? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
