<div class="IPBDescription">It does not work...</div>I must say this is a great mod and I only played it for about ten minutes because of heavy lag...

Anyway, my main problem is the filter fuction: it doeas not work. I have tried to set all the filter functions as I want them and them restart, but it don't help. The game still wants to check all of the twentyseventhousand and ten servers.

How can I fix it?

to filter for certain games and maps you need to select them off in the boxes to the right AND then click the checkmark boxes direct in line with the ones you want (map/game type respectivly)

Well not sure if i'm having the same problem. I just recently installed Half-life on my box and then the HL update. Then NS. But am only able to filter Half-life. I don't have any other option. It's as if NS is just a mask over the Original HL...

I too am haveing a filter problem, every time I update it seems to ignore the filter and begins to update ALL half life servers(Wich isint good when you consider that there are roughly 25,000 servers at any given time) <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'> Anyone got any suggestions?

I have actually been having this same problem but with CS too before I got NS. It does it sometimes and other times not. I havent figured out why. If I filter for NS games only I still get the whole list. Then sometimes I'll click a few other filters and then apply the filter, or unclick a few, then go back to the way I had it before and it works. Seems pretty inconsistent though. If someone has a solution for this I would really like to hear it too.

I'm also having filter problems, Although my problems are slightly different then yours it seems....NS wasn't even listed as an installed(Filter-able) mod, and strangely enough only DoD and Half-Life showed up as installed(Filter-able), even though I also have Vampire Slayer, TFC, DMC, and that richocet crap installed as well. At first I thought it was something wrong with the .exe or whatever, So I tried running DoD then filtering the servers for NS, and NS showed up as installed (YAY), But when I updated the server list, It decided to ping all twenty-thousand HL servers :/.

So I'm pretty much out of Ideas to get around this BS, so here are my specs and please to be helping me <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':angry:'> :

- CPU = Althon T-bird 1.4ghz
- Snd/gfx = I have no clue, some bogus generic company.
- OS = WinXP (HomeED)
- Gfx mode = Open GL 800X600

Extra info: (not exactly sure whats usefull info to help you figure out what the problem is, so bare with me here)

- 40gb hd
- 256K DSL connection
- 40x CD-RW drive
- latest version of HL
- and I'm behind a firewall, although I do have it so that I can play HL and it's mods Online.

Thats all that comes to mind at the moment, so I'll just rap this up here.

Anybody fixed the Filters problem?

Yesterday I was having all the problems above, I even re-installed HL and everything.
This moring the first thing I checked here to see if someone shared my problem, fixed this shortcut and it worked, but still yesteday the Filter worked sometimes.
I'd like to know if this stupid error is because of this.

I had the same problem but i just start Counter-strike and change the game to ns and filters work fine.

Oops, I answered this one in the two threads above, but I guess it wasn't obvious enough. The fix is simple: just delete the desktop shortcut that the installer creates. For some reason, on some systems, the desktop shortcut doesn't launch NS properly, and NS won't show up in the filter list. Just launch NS from your Start menu instead and this will be fixed.

I've had the same problem, but I don't know if Flay realizes that the option to filter for 'ns' <i>is</i> there, it just doesn't do anything.

On the other hand, I do find that launching from the start menu does work (most times, its touchy).

flay, i haven't had time to check my shortcut yet, but my suspicion is the -game paramiter is pointing to something else... im clueless as to why the shell is still there though...

Well, my Filters are still not working, even using the Start menu shortcut.

OK, this is really getting annoying, now when I go to Filer for NS, not only is NS filterable (still wants to not filter and instead ping all 90 bajillion servers for HL), but so are mods I do not even have on my ####### system..... <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('> I can somehow (now) filter for the mods "dragonmodz" gunsomething and some other mods that I have never downloaded let alone even heard of, so my question is: WTF? The mod has ###### my filter up beyound belief. And if thats not bad enough, when I do manage to connect to a server I can't play becuase of CPU lag. Someone suggested that I use "all seeing eye" until you guys fix this, And that fine in all, but I really hope you guys fix this ASAP.

I forgot to add that: I did delete the desktop icon and used both the start menu icon and the icon directly from the MOD's folder.

I followed Flayra's advice on starting from the start menu shortcut, but you also may have to delete the favsvrs.dat file from your sierra/half-life folder otherwise the problem will repeat itself. Just make sure to delete that file before you start HL and everything should work fine. One other thing though, I noticed that sometimes when I quit HL now, there will be an untitled box on my taskbar that disappears when I click it, dunno what that is about but it did not happen untill I installed NS. Also it seems that no mods no longer work off the desk top for me.

Well, I have this problem with the filter:when I choose to play NS, then the filter will work fine only for once. If I exit NS and then try to filter another HL mod, then the filter screws up and doesn't work. I always have to restart and then go directly and choose the mod that I want to filter.

Ah, another thing: let's hope that the server's patch will be ut really quick because in these conditions the game is just not playable(and I am on ADSL I say)
