Scratches On Monitors. Not A Big One.

<div class="IPBDescription">What Can Be Done?</div> Long story short, 21" monitor on offer for £50 (about $88 USD).
It's a huge step up from the 14" I have now (that
sounds weird) but there's a slight scratch on the middle
-left of the screen.
It's not noticable until you're up close. But i keep thinking
that it'll get in the way during gameplay until I get
used to it being there.

I'm going to have a proper look at it at 2pm (1 hour 45 mins)
to see if supports 1280*1024 and 75hz and higher refresh
rates.

What do you guys reckon, bite the bullet and enjoy having a bit
one (I should probably rephrase that) or save my cash til
something undamaged comes along?
Anyone running their games on a scratched screen that can
provide feedback on how it affects them and their gaming?

Thanks in advance.

    a keyboard is a different matter, you don't stare at it all day long!

    Turns out the scratch was bigger than expected.
    When we switched the monitor on it was large a big
    (2/3 inch) purple pen mark down the screen. So I left that
    monitor and got a 17" for £30. Happy days.

    CRT.
    I got it home and realised I didn't have the
    right wires. I've never seen a monitor run
    from the USB before. So now I have to wait til morning
    to use it <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
    It sits in the floor behind me, calling me, taunting me.

    Apparently COMPAQ think its funny to hide the power
    sockets. It's just the standard power connection but I overlooked
    it <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
    It's right under the monitor's base. Really weird.

    how do you scratch a DESKTOP screen? I mean, you need to apply pressure on some sharp object on your screen... You gotta be asking for it. It's not like a portable screen (jukebox, GB, PDA, phone etc) where it's much more easily to misplace some scratching object.
