We suck with aliens, but what are we doing wrong?

Is there something that the majority of new players is doing wrong when playing as an alien? Help a brother out here, I <i>want</i> to be good with aliens!

    First read the manual to get all the information u possibly need to play as an alien and secondly take ur time when playing.  This game is more strategic than combat.  Learn to build things in important hot spots and evolve.....I dont even play as an alien and I'm tellin u this.  I'm a marine.

    I think part of it is learning the maps. The aliens need to get out and start harrassing and containing the marines quickly, not all go gorge and wander around aimlessly. As ppl learn the maps a bit more they will know the quickest paths from each hive to the marine start and give the marines a few little surprises. Remember to parasite from a distance first, then sneak in for a kill as a skulk. IF you don't get him at least your buddy skulk will know where to go.
