<div class="IPBDescription">Sammy's E3 announcement</div> They finally did it XD
I've been sitting for years saying GGX would make a crazy-cool 2D platform game and the new version of Guilty Gear coming out actually includes it!!!
Not only that but it also supports up to 4 players fighting it out instead of the traditional maximum of 2... I can die happy now ~giggles and bounces~

you mean i get to dust off my ps2?!?!
I have GGX, but never beat it. It gets ridicously *i can't spell that word* too hard on the last 2-3 guys. I did get to the final female boss though. Man she's hard.
Hmm, hardest game so far for me near the ending was VF4. omg ttalking about insane on the last game and the very very last "thing."
<b>edit:</b> one thing I'm hoping is that the 2D platform game also has coop because that would be totally insane =D

Or Testament on the DC version of GGX....*shudders*
I dunno, the GG series is...well, okay I guess. I much prefer the SNK fighters, though.
Sure he was nasty but he was nothing compared to dizzy and her overkill specials o.O

Dizzy was nothing. Testament however has and will always be the bane of my GGX playing existance.
Dizzy though... I struggled through most of the fight to get near her =s
Guess it shows the difference in play-styles huh? <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
AWESOME!!
I always wondered how awesome it would be to have 4 players fighting at the same time in Soul Calibur 2. But this is even better!
Jam + Johnny = Unbeatable!
Now I get to actually play something interesting on my PS2 when it releases <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
But fighting with a guitar is well....you know. But WTH, beating people around with a guitar is cool right? (Maybe except an anchor....LONG LIVE ANCHOR SMACKAGE!)

And I'm sorry, but nothing on the PS2 can stack up to the GGX on DC.

My guess is that is easier with some characters than others; typical example: Venom. I always have a very hard time to beat testament, and Dizzy is a cake-walk: she takes every double head morbid i do, and i dont talk about his dark angel super ^^. It is more or less the same for my Jam, other my Faust beats Testament with no problem (gotta love qcf+S combos) and have a lot of difficulties with Dizzy.
As for GG in general liku, you should try it. It's a very deep and satisfying fighting game! I used to like Capcom vs SNK 2 a lot and stuff but after GGX I could never fully go back =3
The complexity of the mechanics behinds the scenes is ridiculous and while they effect the game immensely inspite of their subtley they're not prominant enough to ruin your concentration or sense of fun in the fight ^^
To be honest I think the balance is ok if you ignore the ever-present "oh look I have higher move priority than god" Sol who's always been widely regarded as blatant cheating =P
<!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Look around all you want and everyone will have different opinions on who's overpowered which speaks to me of balance... if nobody can agree entirely on which characters are over the top then it's all good; the only one I've yet to see anyone on the whole net argue against is Sol. Heck even Sol players agree he's overpowered <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Man, I feel like eating some tri-tip and playing some right now. lol
Unlike Sol where you could just get up and start over. Cheeeeeap Sol. Rather use someone else like Faust or Baiken than you.
But when I just feel like whooping, well, you can guess I'm a blatant cheater.(aka I use Sol....sometimes <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)
Zappa was fun, He almost felt like Lei from Tekken playing style wise. I think it was because they both had multiple modes of attack you had to master. Definatly had the most classic moments with Zappa. Now that I think about it, how could you not have classic moments with a guy like that?
Ky seemed like the most conventional and balanced in the end though. He's the only character I really mastered the the moves with. Actually come to think of it I got most of Jams moves down too.
Well that out of the way, I would like to expand on my earlier comment. How are they going to fit overdrives and such into the 4v4? Does anyone else feel like Potekim and his like of slower characters would just get harrassed to death in a 4v4? They would have to revamp the entire balancing to work. I mean just get Jam and Sol on the same team and you are going to have some major problems.
Another thing that bothers me is Projectiles. I can just imagine two Ky Players or other adapt long range attackers spamming the screen.
Lastly, Cancles. Is it even worth it to learn cancles and roman cancles in a 4v4?
I am just worried that 4v4 is going to be a button mashing frenzy, or a one move show.
Once again, I am cut short on time. I think I got my message across though.
His ground-headbutt would probably be particularly nasty as it'll hit all 3 players if they're on the floor, plus with the reach of his moves he'll probably be able to hit multiple people at once.
One thing to take note of is that 4 player seems to be 2v2. In the shots I noticed that they both seemed to be teams of 2, apart from the 3 player shot.
Either way I can see the combo-tastic venom with his darkangels being nigh-on lethal.
Oh and as for roman cancels, there's some sort of combo we discovered with potemkin that you need to roman cancel to do and it's a nasty piece of work. Problem is it's nigh on impossible to really do, especially in a fight and everthing must be timed perfectly. It takes off about 2/3 - 3/4 of the enemy's hp bar. But then again Potemkin's always a heavy hitter anyways =3
<b>edit:</b> typo ^^;
