Should Cats Effect Hand Grens And Welder?

<div class="IPBDescription">Opinions</div> I was testing this before and wondering should cat packs effect the weld rate of welders and the throw speed of hand grens?

Currently from my own tests cat packs do not effect them.

Also this has probably been discussed but should it effect reload speed considering the packs make you run faster and shoot faster shouldnt you be able to move your hands faster?

And then should cats effect build speeds eg: fast phase rushes?? More strategy? Overpowered?

Plz inform me if this is wrong forum for this, i figured it was a pretty general discussion. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I think something you could do faster, would be done faster. But i dont see how your speed increases full-auto fire. I understand pistol, shotgun, knife and GL speed but not LMG or HMG. Of course they are there so they even do something useful but just thinking... I think it should increase building speed and reload speed.

"Should Cats Effect Hand Grens And Welder?"

I looked at the name of the topic and for a second I thought: "Huh? Cats?"

I think cat-packs should affect running speed, jumping power, pistol shooting speed, reloading speed, grenade throwing speed, shotgun shooting speed, and knife speed.

They just make the most sense to me.. with lmg, hmg and welder the marine holds the trigger.. any adrenaline on his side shouldnt affect the shooting speed imho.

    As for building speed.. dunno..

Really I thought catalyst packs affects welders too.

It has something to do with nanites. They go into the gun and make it firing faster.

I don't think that catpacks should affect reloading. At first I thought they should, but then someone told me to think about GL spamming^2... The horror....

TBH I think this is realistically unimportant. I think there are bigger issues than catalyst affecting hand grenades and welders. However, that aside, I think that is should affect hand grenades (which, btw, I think are pitifully slow right now) but not welding. If it was up to me, cat packs would do this:
    -run faster
    -reload faster
-fire semi auto weapons faster (SG, GL)
    -increase accuracy of automatic weapons
-Perhaps most importantly, they would last at least 30 seconds or have reduced cost

YES! cat packs should definitely increase build time, this would actually make them more useful.

cats shouldnt affect grenades or welding.

"oh noo, dont throw that grenade! my cat is hiding somewere over here."
"no, dont weld here! you make my cat blind."

Catalysts did affect welder in 3.0 beta3.... I'm assuming from yoru post that they don't anymore... no reason not to have them affect it.

would certainly make them useful if they resulted in faster building...

    phase rushing far quicker <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Well i did try testing it with attacking the hive and it seemed the attack speed of the welder was just the same, i may be wrong but from what i observed no change.

I did also find out weapon upgrades also effect welders on a sidenote.

I thought about that but it would still mean an investment for the comm, plus it would give cat packs more use. And if he is concentrating on looking after just the GL that means the rest of the team is vulnerable.
I dunno, you may be right.

I thought the catalysts effecting firing rates were to do with the catalyst causing the nanites to fire the weaponry faster with no overheating. I thought that was the whole point of the cat packs having two seperate chambers eg: one for rine and one for the weapon.

IMHO build speed increase with cat packs would work well, being able to increase your ninja rines efficiency. It would give a new skill to comms i think. Knowing when they would be highly beneficial, rather than the comm on the off chance has Cats researched sees an onos and cats 3 rines.
Not to mention the fact that at the end game finishing the aliens wouldnt be so tedious.

eh? i thought cats did increase building/welding speed

Also if you want to know what weapon upgrade affects, it affects everything except turrets, electrification, and knives .

IMO, cat-packs improve the agility of a marine, thus it should:

    a) Make knife RoF faster
    b) Make throwing grenades faster
    c) Make reloading faster (but not shooting speed)
    d) Make marine faster

Thus weapons and welders aren't really affected by the cat-pack (or building time). I find it rather odd that some hormone could actually have an effect to a physical object. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
