Hi all, my english is poor so i apologize for my mistakes...
We are beginning to make a NS humouristic film, and we will anim the NS models in 3d studio max. So I want to know, if we can import NS maps to 3d studio max.
I know how to import a halflife model to 3dsm, so you say that it is impossible to import entire map to 3dsm. Nervertheless, I heard that NS maps has been made with 3dsm, is it possible to obtain the 3dsm files ?

You can get geomitry from maps by decompiling them (with BSPtwoMAP), opening them up in hammper, exporting to whatever file format that's there that's not map or rmf (I use radiant, so I don't know what it's called. I havn't touched hammer for a long time) and then import it into 3ds max.
I would recomend re-doing them entirely tho because like delarosa sait, the maps and in game models are not movie material.

3DS -> Milkshape -> VHE -> Game
but not the other way around...
as for the weapon/player models, i'de suggest re-creating them in max, because the texture and model architecture aren't movie material...
mdl -> milkshape (decompile via Karistos, import .smd, export to .3ds) -> 3ds max
also, belongs in help section...
but not the other way around... <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->

Open it in Hammer
Go to File<export to .dxf
Open Max.
File<import
Select the .dxf file.
Voila.
This does not work well with decompiled map since the decompiler creates a very poor quality .map file.
Also, you will have no textures in max.
