Tearing Vsync

<div class="IPBDescription">Is there a console command to fix this?</div> When I strafe, i get vsync tearing across the center of my screen, (a half inch thick, wibbly line) one Half Life related site says there's a console command: vid_wait "x" and that this is used to enable/disable Vsync, NS doesn't seem to recognize it though, I've just got a new monitor and the fact this is still going on bugs me.

Anyone have similar problems / ideas as to how to make this go away?

Video card: Radeon 9800 SE
Monitor: Hyundai Q995

I haven't had this problem so I don't know if it will work, but here are some suggestions.

Go to device manager and disable any other monitor that may show, do the same with display adapters.

I also assume you have latest drivers and your graphic card lists your new monitor. Also try playing in a window and in open gl.

Do you mean you have VSync on, and the graphics are still tearing?
