<div class="IPBDescription">Help out the little guys...</div>Ok, from what I have heard NS is a rather large download, and even if I am somehow able to start downloading from my school chances are, it wont be done by the time i get home seeing as how my 56k gets about 3.5 kbs tops on downloads. actually there will probly be about 3-4 hours left on the download if it comes out when i think it will. Please dont kill me for asking this but is there anyway that yall could release it in the morning so i could start the download before i go to school. I am sure i am not the only person who is faced with this problem. Right now i have a freind who says that he can take over my computer while im at school but the problem is if it comes out at 2: 00 ill probly be able to play it at 10: 00 earliest. the last hl patch that came out (80megs) took me more than all night... Anywho...If yall cant release it in the morning its ok, Ill just be sad <!--emo&:(--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('><!--endemo-->
Also, I did read that the release time is still unknown. I was praying this would influence the decision

Download large mod to Burner-enabled PC.
Burn file to CD.
Take CD Home.

Some schools are strict about computer use, but try explaining it to the person in charge of the lab and they should budge- just say "I want to download this large file, but it is too big at home- can I dl it and save it onto a CD? I'll erase it and won't install blah blah blah..."
btw get a DA it helps i sometimed get about 7k out of my 56k for about an hour sometimes but average about 4.4-5k/sec
As for the getting it at school, we dont have burners...and the Library people are evil. you cant touch there amazingly slow computers unless its for school projects.
Besides, as good as this game is do you <i><b>HAVE</b></i> to have it on your HDD within the first few hours? (though of course we are all gonna try <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->).
May I suggest that you wait until you can download it? Or use a download manager as has already been suggested?
Besides, Flayra has been nice enough by providing a superb netcode, plus the download is smaller than it could have been, as was the trailer and manual.

My school supposedly has a high speed line but they have to share with the elementary schools in the area. (So that's four schools going through one line) Doesn't affect me much, I have a DSL modem.
don't u mean DAP, daownload accelerator plus? I love that thing. I have a cable modem and i use it! Not only can u resume ur DLs but u can switch sites and it ACELLERATES ur DLs by up to 300%. I usually average around 70k. Now on some servers i get up to 200-300k!!!
Dont get the premium edition, just the normal one. It really helps with 56k.
Now that I have cable, I easily go 300-450kb sec. ( depending on many factors ) but be sure to set the settings for best performances.

$40 a month is a good bit of money, its small costs like that which add up "even a small leak can sink a great ship"- Poor Richards Almanac. besides, think of it this way, i pay $4.99 a month instead of 40. basicly, every 2 months you just threw out a dvd player. By all means our family is not poor nor are we rich. (at least not in my eyes) now I could probably make a list of things that i have that make our family "unique" that would blow you away. but im not, im modest. for what we sacrafice in one area we make up in another. do not put all 56kers into the "poor" class, you maybe surprised who you are calling poor....
in conclusion, When i made this thread i wasnt aiming for it to turn into a grudge match between the people. The only reason i made this post was so that i may actualy be able to play tomorrow.
Oh and by the way, troy, seeing as how you are 14 years old, i doubt that YOU actualy pay $40 a month for your own connection...and if you are, then chances are you are "super poor" after you pay it.
I have a suggestion for you though. Find any 'computer literate' person you know that hasa broadband connection (any) and tell them you'll give 'em pizza or anything of equal value, if they will download and burn the Natural Selecton installer on to a CD and give it to you that very day. People have asked me to do that for them, even people who barly even know me. Good luck and besides you'll eventually get it anyhow just not quite as soon as you would want to if things don't turn out.
