<div class="IPBDescription">Voice problems</div> Hi
I've got a (probably rather stupid) question:
I've been playing on pubs now for a while and have made the experience that in modt games either there is no one willing to go Commander or that the Commanders aren't very good at their job. So I decided to go for Commander myself in games with just friends. Now my first big problem is: As soon as I'm sitting in the CC my teammates can't hear me anymore! I can't talk to them although it works very well as long as I'm Marine or Alien. changing the Key from "Q" to "Alt" didn't help either and I've got no clue whats wrong :/
Plz help!
Thanks
Shiriki

I know that NS doesn't ignore the "Alt" key altogether for a friend of mine uses it for the menue but maybe the CC does... Can you talk as Commander using the third mouse button?
Aren't there any Commanders in this forum to tell me what keys they are using?

No, mouse binds for +voicerecord won't work in commander mode. I suggest using Ctrl. It's easy to get to using your little finger if you're using the WASD setup.
At least yours was bound to Q, when i made the jump from 1.0 to 2.0 mine was still set to V, and that caused whole loads of trouble when commanding, since it's the default hotkey to recycle whatever you have selected. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
voice_dsound 1
or
voice_dsound 0
when the level changes, the choppy mic should clear up in the cc.
:S
a) Buiding the wrong structure is unlikely to cost you the game. Where a mis-placed SC can totally destroy the alien game, dropping an armslab in a hive instead of scanning would just cost you a couple minutes of res.
b) The structures and items are lablled
c) In case you did not notice, the buttons on the keyboard correspond to the position of the items in the menu. So if you know R-> D is HMG, you should be able to deduce that Grenade is R->F. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
At least learn E->S and E-A for med and ammo respectively.
BTW ZiGGY^, it is your CROUCH key that's the private chat function.
I couldn't imagine comming without the hot keys, I suspect it would be alot of frantic mouse movements trying to respond to all the requests on the map. I'm not happy unless every marine on my team gets the RT the first time they ask for it.

True, but dumping an rt just outside a hive for one rine may not be the best of tactical descisions. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I tend to set my rines out in groups of 2, (3*2 Squads with the obs in squad 4 and armslab in 5, moving to 2*3 Squads when the proto goes up and takes position in squad 3.) This means that you dont keep loose 15 res when a rouge skulk munchies your rine and his rt.
