Nothing gets me happier than ns, Going out there owing, Even if you arent owing Its still fun. Ns is complete with Strategic ways to win.. Unlike some games such as Cs, Cs does have some "Team" work involved But nothing like Natural Selection. i prefer ns istead of co.. I don't like Being in the command chair I' am more like a feild commander it's hard to get used to but a lil practice will help.

I don't think 3.0 sucks because obviously I still play, but I just don't get the same "buzz" from NS I used to. No doubt it being a great game, just not the best <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

It might be because you've played it for so long. I know the feeling.
When ns is at its worst (guys who hump the armory when the base is under attack, an alien team of res ****), I'd rather play pong.
On the server which I usually play (my clan one) one of the clan members which has full admin powers usually takes the role of field commander. I like it then because he will usually spearhead an attack and if anyone doesn't cooperate they get the boot.

I feel 1.03 was the best version... This is just an illusion though, if I go back and look at it and play it is quite awful compared to ns 3.0 but I still have that memory of starting to play NS for hours on end and the fun it was.
It's just a mirage, you do get tired of games after you play them for a while and it's very easy getting attached to the way things used to be if you had good memories(it's also surprisingly easy to "forget" all the glaring flaws....)

Of course there are exceptions when you look at the extremes. But in general, "field comms" are an annoyance. The worst scenario is where they disagree with the real comm, and effectively destroy whatever cohesion the marine team had. If they comm and field comm works together, great. But if weve got one of 'em I-am-always-right field comms that go against the comm, it just makes the game unenjoyable to the whole team.

Without a doubt NS has given me the greatest gaming moments and the most fun of any game ever, but I’m having a long break at the moment as I played it solidly for about a year after it came out.
No other game before or since has provided the same depth, atmosphere and teamplay. The trouble is it’s spoilt me by raising the bar so high in my eyes few other games satisfy me for very long. I doubt I’ll get the same enjoyment from a game for a long time, especially as Flayra’s next project sounds like it’s years away.
On another note...

It is also the first game I found with the most teamplay present. All other games I played that are teamplay based were full of rambos and teams-of-ones.
It is also the game that inspires me the most for artworks. It is NS that brought me into working on my first serious movie project.
NS brought me to HL. All other HL Mods back then, didn't interest me at all.
..oh.. erm. Nevermind, nothing.
EDIT:: Yes, I am the keeper of the cookies.
But nonetheless, welcome to the forums, have a great time, and keep away from the trolls, they like throwing rocks at people but we ignore them anyways. Plus the admins usually get their warnings right to them and later they get destr.....err banned.
