I bought HL when it came out, played the SP a bit and put it down. It didn't really do much for me. Played CS for about a week, hated it. Same with DoD. NS saved my HL cd from the trash. Until I played NS, I always counted HL as a waste of money.
Vampire Slayer. I was a "Vampire Slayer" before NS, and I am still playing it on and off, although I play NS way more... But at the moment I'm playing Harvest Moon: AWL.

I personally can't stand any other HL mod other than NS right now. I used to be in CAL-o for CS back in the day... but the the game got real lame to me.
Since then... I've been playing NS. Other than that, I play ma' gamecube and PS2 alot (definitely go buy XIII for either console, kick-arse game). Oh. Not much of a hardcore gamer with anything anymore. Ns is really all that I play, and I suppose it's because I have a server I play on all the time, and know most of the people there. That's really why I play... 'cuz it's fun and nice to get away from things all the time.
Vampire Slayer... I used to be a really hardcore fan of VS, but when I switched to steam and found how buggy it is on steam I slowly changed loyalties.
I would play Half-Life occasionally, the single-player, but the other mods seem like rubbish to me (even though CS was fun for a while). Hmm i play DoD i guess but NS is what i have Hl for at the end of the day. i occasionally play ricochet tfc and cs s&i other than that i play tribes 2 and americas army.. whats this half life rally sound interesting
I bought HL after playing CS and other mods for ages with my friend's version. NS was fun but I don't play that or any other HL stuff now so I'd probably be up to exactly what I'm up to right now... Harvest Moon and learning to mod UT2k4 =3

Without ns I'd probably still be playing TFC, very simply high quality game. If Gangwars had a server, I'd most definitely be playing that. Gangwars had the best actual gameplay of any mod ever to exist, and it never got boring. I've been playing NS since 1.03, but GW definitely won as far as sheer fun factor goes.

If I didn't play NS so much I'd probably have released an amazing psy trance album by this point, instead of having 1 complete psytrance track and a bunch of misc. complete tracks from different genres and like 3 unfinished trance tracks.

NS definitely keeps me playing HL, but I likely won't be playing NS any more once HL2 or Doom3 make it out the door. (still not sure which one will make it to us first though) As is, my attention to the game has dwindled due to the totally awesome Final Fantasy XI, a re-introduction into Warcraft 3, and the massive time drain otherwise known as grad school. Needless to say, I'm thoroughly interested in the new stuff that UWE is going to be putting out in the future. If it is anywhere on the scale of quality that NS has shown us then I'll probably be seeing most of this same crowd on THOSE forums when the time comes.
An idea I'd like to put forward, though it's sure to be rejected, is to release NS resources to some other team to pick it up as a HL2 remake (not to make NS 2 or anything, just a port if you will to another, newer engine)
Nevertheless, my experiences with NS will never really leave me even after I leave the game.
I guess I'm all alone on this one when I say that NS is the only game I actually played. I tend to go in swings, a month of inactivity game-wise, then a wild orgy of daily NS.
Perhaps the only other games I consider are new ones, and I just try them, I don't like them. But thats just me.

Propably I would play TFC, maybe even a few rounds (OMGZ H4X AK NUBCAEK) CS every now and then.
Without HL I would play DAoC, I think, or Planetside. Maybe UT2k4.
