Steam Doesn't See Half-life

I installed Half-Life game of the year edition, then I installed steam. Steam doesn't acknowledge that Half-Life is installed. If I click Half-Life in the steam menu, it tells me I'm ordering the Half-Life Platinum Pack.
How do I fix this? I've tried reinstalling Steam but it never sees Half-Life.

unistall/reinstall steam is my suggestion.
Or, just go ask the steampowered people, as this is a total steam issue, not an NS issue (and they will probably know the answer)
