Question about the umbra weapons

<div class="IPBDescription">?</div>Do both the marine and the alien need to be in the Umbra for it to take effect? (marine bullets only hit 6 of 7 times). Or if the alien is outside the umbra and the marine is in it, will it still work?  Or if the alien is inside and the marine is outside the umbra will the effects of it still work?

    I know for certain that any alien within the umbra is protected.  I'm fairly certain that any bullets which attempt to pass through the umbra are subject to its affects.

    If you're in umbra, you're protected. If you're not in the cloud, you're not protected. If you're behind the cloud, even, you're not protected.

    I could have sworn that bullets passing through unbra get blocked too.

    Basicly, drop an umbra on a turret, and it's near useless.

    I think I read somewhere that it's kinda like armor that you stand in to use, legionnaired... You can't just drop it on a turret and be on your merry way.

    Lord_Frodo has it.  Any player or structure inside the umbra (and on the same team as the player that created it) reaps the benefits of it.  It does not block bullets that pass through the umbra to hit a target outside the umbra.  It does however, protect structures.

    Sieges, grenades, and knives are not affected by Umbra.

    Do multiable umbras in one spot stack there effectiveness?
