okay to start off, id like to know what the scoreboard looks like and how is it organized.

also i have another question regarding the commander's mouse cursor. will you be allowed to click and drag, to make a large box? and if so, will it be useful at all

    Hey elite:
Not sure about your first question... wait for a PT to answer that, but I'm pretty sure that a commander can drag a box and select a group of marines to give orders to.  This is very useful when trying to give more than one marine the order to go to one spot.

oh, well the reason why i asked the second question was because when i was watching the trailer, i saw that the commander was just clicking on 2 guys one by one giving them orders. well i could be wrong, heh. i doubt it though, i watched the trailer like 100 times and not to mention, urinated in my pance.

    well i sure hope youre right, because then my starcraft 1337 $k1llz0rz w1ll c0m3 1nt0 pl4yz0r

"okay to start off, id like to know what the scoreboard looks like and how is it organized."

Its divided into two teams (guess which!), and displays the standard stuff like score and ping. But score is only for Aliens, marines have no individual score. There is a team score at top for both teams by their label. Also when you are dead your name is in red (both teams can see this).

Team specific scoreboard things are: Marines can see a COMM by the name of their commander, and REIN by the name of the player next in line to respawn. Aliens can see the class of alien the other players are (i.e. Gorge, Lerk, etc.).

"also i have another question regarding the commander's mouse cursor. will you be allowed to click and drag, to make a large box? and if so, will it be useful at all"

    yup, you sure can.

"oh, well the reason why i asked the second question was because when i was watching the trailer, i saw that the commander was just clicking on 2 guys one by one giving them orders."

yes, you can give players individual orders/waypoints. Or if you select multiple marines at once (via dragging the box) then you can give them all an order at the same time.

ehhe i think i should clarify something, just so that i dont look like an idiot. when i said that i saw the commander giving two people orders separately, he was also giving them the same orders.

eh... i guess this was a bit pointless but i want to always be known as the reputable person that i am

If you type status in console it will tell you how many kills you have. Same in NS? Even as marine?
  • loofboteloofbote Join Date: 2002-07-15 Member: 948Members
I thought there were bots in nstr2. But couldnt you make your own bots for any mod if you wanted to? I dont think any would make/use mods for NS. I think they were put in nstr2 just to watch the types of guys moving to make people go insane. Heh that status command would be nice. I cant wait till halloween! But someone please correct me on my info, im not really sure, I want official info.

Quick answer: No bots, at all, ever.

bots wouldn't work ns is too complicated. i mean cs its same thing for both teams, but here teams are different AND theres commander mode.

  • GnacoxGnacox Join Date: 2002-10-27 Member: 1654Members
If I am not wrong NS is supposed to be an approx. 95 mb  large download file.

Hmm that sounds small compared to say like DOD, I figured it would be about that size...
