yes... there is accually, figured it out myself, and it might only be 1.7, i think its shift+ctrl+alt+click on the vertex u wanna select.... gotta have wireframe or wireframe overlay too...
Well considering they bought like 200 liscences for 12 computers, I'd think they have a couple extra to spare. And no, I didn't have sexual relations with my teacher (Uber-eww), he just gave me the CDs and school liscences after I asked if I could have a copy.
My school has liscences for CADKey on ALL their computers, including little individual computers for all of the teachers, the programming class computers, the video communications computers...

You can select (or deselect) a vertex in perspective view by holding alt and clicking on it.
You can select (or deselect) multiple vertices by holding shift and alt and clicking on them.

And, btw, haxhax, I still can't create faces with it. :\ Does work for selections, though, which is still good.
