Is there a good program out there for putting together animated gifs? Because the one I am using now keeps crashing, I have all of the pics but I can't get it to save as a gif, do any of you guys know of one?

Thanx

I use MSgifanimator. I think it´s free. :/ It hasn´t got all those fancy new options and stuff but it does the job for me.

Hey thanx I got my gif working, now does anybody know of a place I can upload one and use it as an avatar like that one sighosting site Jedi Yoshi pointed me to?

    My avatar was done in <a href="http://www.jasc.com" target="_blank">AnimationShop 3</a>.

Hosting: Put it on <a href="http://www.imahosting.com" target="_blank">ImaHosting</a> and in you 'avatar location' thing type in the address ImaHosting gives you.

    Alternatively:

    <a href="http://www.clanpages.com" target="_blank">ClanPages</a>
    <a href="http://www.boomspeed.com" target="_blank">Boomspeed</a>

I can't remember any more hosts. Type in 'sig hosting' on Google, you should get a few there.

Add <a href="http://www.netfirms.com" target="_blank">Netfirms</a> to that list. It requires knowledge of FTP though (which is easy as hell).

By the way, I could be able to make gifs, but the computer I use doesn't have beans worth of space left. <!--emo&:(--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('><!--endemo-->

It doesn't take much space, my gif alone was 67kb I think

so, the deal is, in order to make an animated gif, yougotta individually creat each frame?

    ... fun.

Actually, most modern computer animation is done mostly with what some poeple love to call "Tweening"

Basically, you say "I want this to start this way, and end this way" And the computer fills in the spaces between those two points.

Its a little hard to learn at first, but try using flash.
Do a few tutorials before anything else.
After your done you can export it right to a .gif

    <a href="http://www.macromedia.com/software/trial_download/" target="_blank">Flash Trial</a>

...anyone else know a better program with tweening?
