If your using max, there is built in objects which are just a tube..
Im taking a stab that your using milkshape.. so to do it.. make a cylinder.. and delete the caps of it (the lids), then duplicate and scale it to the inside of the O. then flip the normals. and create the poly's to cap it off.

P.S where can i get the latest hand skelton from so i can model it around the shape of the hands???
