the style of drawing really suits your idea.
Just amazed at your work rate, your churning pieces off like there is no tommorow.

    good work.

May I use this for the basis of some textures for a map?

OMG that is one sweet helluva texture!

And it couldn't have been done with kyliegirl....whatever would we do without her?

I know for once I wouldn't be drawing NS pics every now and then if she didn't.

    heh thats cool

why not make a version where you see behind the muscle?

like, does the skulk ave 3 lungs, or what? ?

That's quite remarkable. You should get that placed in the ns manual with a bit more tweaking to make it look like it's part of a med screen or something.. kinda like that mapping texture.

    Impressive pictures...

Now it might be a bit too exhausting to make detailed plans of other life form's anatomy and let's not think about the bunch of alien growths... it would take a group of xenobiologists to imagine the internal structure of a hive...

Ya thanks for the image kyliegirl. I love how you made the bone structure, so I made a wallpaper using it for personal use. Thanks, and good work

You know? I think the skulks tail is cartalige...maybe thats why there are no bones or muscle there...cuz are nose and ears are cartalige.....its bendalbe...but it retanes its natural shape...

    Not quite correct, Status.
Stable, powerful UNIFIED explosives are difficult to find and maintain. Read through the backstory and Kharaa datasheet on Xenocide in the manual... when triggered, chemicals inside the Skulk mix, turn unstable and volatile, and result in a detonation. If it's a two (or probably more, to explain why a lucky bullet won't set it off) part explosive, it'll stay perfectly happy until those glands/sacs are triggered.

As well, it's true that mammals need bone. However, what about a more sharklike structure of cartilage? And what's to say that Kharaa bone has to follow even vaguely similar to Terran bone rules? Remember, when dealing with a xenoform, assumption of familiarity can be the most dangerous mistake to make. (Such as going to shake hands, and getting blasted for grabbing the dignitary's genitals... which just happened to look and be located the same place as a hand)

Long and short of it being, no one but the Devs know for certain. However, trying to explain why something is wrong, basing off Terran terms and arguing that point is a sure way to come across... badly.

(edit) Kylie, after you get some rest, had you thought about doing a skin version? Tossing up a rendered approximation seems like it'd clash with the other two. Very nice work, by the way... realized I'd forgotten to mention that little bit. ^_^ (/edit)

An example of nature-similar explosives would be diesel plus phosphate fertilizer, both of which are actually natural in origin and only a little refined by humans using technology that is both a) shockingly primitive and b) a whole helluva lot simpler than biological chemical systems we know to exist. Even better, they don't go off without a "detonator" of some sort, I think it's called a "sympathetic explosion". Also of course, bones-to-shrapnel would require bones that were quite dense, so that argument was entirely invalid; shrapnel is made of steel, you see, not wood or terran bone. Diesel is produced (eventually ) by decaying organic matter forming crude oil, which is then distilled. Phosphate fertilizer is basically just bird turd. Interestingly enough one of the problems with diesel is that algae can grow in it.

There are some amazing offensive designs in the world as we know it, and this world has not been subject to thousands of years of intelligent, forced evolution: the Kharaa have.

+1 for kylie. It does look just like something you would see in a medical book.
