Build 238 totaly blew my performance up UNPLAYABLE

Hey there since the new build is out my performance with the FX6300 blew up its UNPLAYABLE for me now, i dont know what u guys have done but as soon if the round starts i do not reach the 80 FPS anymore and im stuck around ~50 as soon is i get infight they dropp below 40 and it feels like my FX is running on 3GHZ instead of my actually oced 4GHZ .....

about 1 week ago i started to OC the FX and i was able to get some MS waiting for GPU (7870 GHZ OC GIgabyte) and now even if i watch on the ground i dont get further 60 fps anymore where i finaly had about 150 atleast.

so what the hell have you done with that build? i only OCed for Natural selection 2 and now its running like shit - wouldnt wonder if i could reach 30 fps in first minute at @ stock clock

I was playing on refinery earlier which is a rather intensive map to begin with, then all the sudden my framerate plummeted and I started getting 5fps in combat.

Of course a rather amusing side effect is that I was hopping around like I had a jetpack so I was practically speedhacking by having bad performance.

Same problem here guys. gtx670 and unplayable frames. I'm sick of sending dxdiag and tech log

The new build runs fine for me.

EDIT: I lied, for some reason my client hasn't updated and it is still running build 237.

Went from 80-100 FPS in combat to 30-40 FPS... in the early/mid game. Performance took a huge nose dive in 238.. (this is with a gtx 570 and a 2700k 4.7ghz processor.. )

    Big problems for me too.

Tried a couple of games but it's almost screwed up now. can't go up to 50 fps neither in empty room at start. and got 20 while commanding...

i just did some tests. had a screenshot in tram readyroom (B235) with 121 fps (me alone) now i do 82 fps in the same place.

AMD here too. Ph II x4 @3.8

Same problem here, lost about 80fps early game/alone in empty map and it drops to unplayable levels in combat.

I think one of my fellow playtesters noted some reduction in performance, but it seemed ok for most of us - hopefully the team can figure out what's causing it quickly - I think the decision to release now was because the cause was unclear, very limited in who was affected, and more feedback will help them determine the source of the problem.

Is it happening across both Nvidia and ATI cards ? - I think it is from the posts so far, but any info at this point might help.

Im running Nvidia gtx 580 and i7 2600k @ 4.8ghz. The fps drop happens even in a map that consists of nothing but a floor and is completely empty otherwise, in last build it would be easily 200 all the time, now its about 120-130.

Both from what I've read amd and nvidia and in game people have been complaining as well. The higher the frames the more you notice the loss. Even doing a simple test of comparing framerates in explore mode by using the same spot every patch would make it noticeable. I just wish I took screenshots of it.

Btw how do you conduct performance tests? Do you guys have a way to benchmark in game or something? If there isn't could you pleaseeee try to push for one? It would help a lot when determining the extent of change between every patch and for testing before release when the beta build for all players goes live.

Well i dont know wich equipment the Betatesters use, or might they do not even feel the performance hits ...? Dunno but cant tell me that none of them had zero problems, otherwise the testers might should be replaced with some people checking performance every single match ._.'

anyways im out untill a new WORKING build is out, as long i cant play NS2 with that worse Framerates (even Crysis 3 runs with much higher details + 16 players in a beta with over 70 fps in the biggest fights my god SPARK shitgine....)

Well, show us how it is done better, please. Given to you the restrictions of 6 Years development time, only 7 Developers and barely so much money that you don't know whether your make it to finish your awesome engine or not.

The culprit has been found, and a patch will be coming out ASAP for both this issue and for an alien upgrade bug.

Wasn't there enough discussion about that? Well it cost money upfront or 25% royality of the revenue based on UE3. Lastly you have to ask the developers why they choosen to do so. Maybe there was a statement on this topic from the developers I missed?

    i7-2600k / gtx570 / win7 / 310.90 nvidia driver = refinery at ~50fps, dropping constantly to <30 since 238. please fix.

Okay, I just did a few benchmark runs with Fraps and here is what I got:

    Summit:
    Frames: 92683
    Time: 19.56 minutes
    Min FPS: 44
    Max FPS: 106
    Avg FPS: 78.967

    Mineshaft:
    Frames: 86118
    Time: 20 minutes
    Min FPS: 37
    Max FPS: 116
    Avg FPS: 71.765

Same Mineshaft round as above, but late game (20-35 minutes):

    Frames: 49291
    Time: 15.6 minutes
    Min FPS: 32
    Max FPS: 102
    Avg FPS: 52.659

This is down roughly 20-25 FPS from the previous build.

This is with an i5-2500K overclocked to 4.5GHz and a GTX 570 overclocked to 850MHz/1900MHz. I was going to post my DxDiag but it was too long...I thought the "code" option allowed you to safely post that without exceeding the character limit? Oh well. If the devs want it I can post it up, just figured I'd post up my observations.
